Watching the game and now with the loss of players to American Colleges, I wouldn't be surprised if they go through this season without a point. Doesn't appear Rudan is dropping 1st teamers too

What 1st teamers could play? The two suspensions limited the options this week.

Hopefully its 29 next game, we gotta send Butters down to get some games for the WeeNix to try and shake off some of the rust.

That’s all well and Good oldest player 17 , but maybe playing in the.central league you can do that.

Supposed to be our best league with best teams ,best players etc , but it’s not.

I pretty sure the like of onehunga etc could do a lot better job

that's not correct, there were at least 5 players who were older than 17 although the oldest weren't much older than that, Kumsuz and Callan Elliott are both just 19!

Half of the other team were 18-19, to be fair. Though 25 year-old Tim Payne was instrumental in keeping the Nix goalless.

Wonder if he is regretting now not trialling at the Nix (as alleged), as he trudged off post the curtain raiser, rather than being out there for the big game.

Could be a handy backup to Mandi & Rufer now, if at an A League level of fitness.

Only 4 points behind Tasman! Edit: Make that 5 points after their late goal vs TW.

Probably too late for us to make a run for the semi-finals now though.

Boyd Curry was excellent in today's game against Tasman. Definitely one to watch for the future - I'd expect him to be pushing for a wider first team role in the near future.

Heard he was looking at the USA College option, so maybe not?

WeeNix lucky to escape with a draw imo. Not a pretty game by either side and some pretty negative football from both sides. Curry was great for the WeeNix but Hickey was the best player on the pitch by a margin.

Did anyone get a good look of the incident in front of the Tasman bench? I heard the Tasman United team manager saying he was going to give Kiernan Hughes-Mason a bollocking.

thought a draw was a fair result overall, although Tasman must be kicking themselves for letting Ben Waine get the late equaliser especially after they had done pretty well in defending all second half

I was like the refs in that I didn't see the Kiernan Hughes-Mason incident but spoke to a guy who did and he said he whacked the Weenix  player with either a punch or his forearm - if it had been seen by the refs he would have been sent off

I did see it. Was a clear punch behind the officials back, right in front of bench. Said player had already told the officials to fudge off a couple of times. Should have had two reds before half time.

Yeah he's not been a great signing to be honest. I could've sworn he got given a second yellow and no red towards the end as well

So I wasn't the only one that thought that, I could have sworn the ref gave a Tasman player a second yellow and was expecting the red but when it didn't come, I just assumed I got my players mixed up. Think Tasman were very lucky not to see a player sent, between all the swearing at the referee, the punch and amount of players getting one. They were very lucky ref didn't get them first for the swearing and then didn't decide to card anyone until right at the end of the first half when there was stuff that really should have been stamped out earlier.

So basically the guy came in, said our national league is shark but is really no more than a bit of a hack. The amount of players that have done that is more than surprising. Not shocked to hear of footballers than have an inflated opinion of their own ability. In short, you are here cause you are most likely not good enough for anyone else.

Thought Golec was very poor vs Auckland City, think he may have underestimated the ability of the players and speed of the game here. Lea'alafa turned him inside out. Gulley did alright but scored a great goal when he was left unmarked on the edge of the box.

Waine looks a good talent, thought the number 5 (Wynne?) and Curry looked good too

So the ex captain of "Team Wellington" is only alright???with a but scored a great goal. Interesting observation.

No. Like I said, he played alright. Not really a standout but was obviously more composed than others on the field.

I thought Rudes discontinued the practice of dropping first team players to the reserves? Or did I just imagine that?
