How bad was the injury, any update? Hopefully he's only taken a knock and will recover in time for Brisbane next week.

Good to see he's amongst the goals too.

Someone at the game said he was holding his groin as he came off.

With possibly Hooper and maybe Waine out for the Roar, Uffie will be getting a little anguish.

Was walking quiet freely after game as he talked to his (Dad)?

Watching Phoenix reserves vs Auckland City, is it just me or are the reserves completely devoid of technical quality, heavy touches, slow passing and all appear to only play with one foot. Where’s the creativity and attacking quality.

The majority are youth league level, at best

That game was abysmal at best. Auckland marginally better.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

Not just you. WP played their entire NZ age grade compliment in NYL last week against TWY and offered very little.

The 4222 structure was stuck to almost regimentally but their passing, ball control and composure under pressure was all poor.

I was told expect the Weenix to regularly comeback at most teams as the players who are in the starting lineup most offen do play together the week before. As the game goes on they build combo's etc. breaking down the opposition.

Is that the final score?

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

14 Dec 02:14

I'd live to see Ahmad Othman in the first team if and when he gets his NZ citizenship

14 Dec 02:29

Yep. Canterbury scored twice in added time, first was disallowed but the second one leveled things up

I believe he's good to go in that regard.

you love to see it

Porirua Pk (or whatever it is called) looked like a better venue than most. Not too hard for a lot of people to get to, covered seating, easy parking (I assume). Good stuff

It is a decent ground, just a shame that the Weenix \ NZF don't really bother to promote the game - there were about 70 there on Saturday and that was only bolstered by the 20 odd age group Canterbury kids that turned up for 1 hour

In regards to eligibility for representing NZ, since he moved for non-football reasons doesn't that make him eligible for dispensation so he doesn't have to wait until he is 23?

Apparently Hooper will be making an appearance at Madills Farm today.

Waine opens the scoring for the WeeNix, 0-1

22 Dec 03:40

Hooper taps in a Waine cross, 0-2

22 Dec 03:59

For once the Nix have put out a decent side if they did this every week they would win this league easy. Watching the game on TV and what a load of bollocks it is,the standard has dropped alarmingly and how bad is Spoonly with his comments.Gary Hooper will be thinking why am I playing in this shark and will he finish the full 90 ?????

22 Dec 04:01

How did Hooper go for the half? Was he looking sharp and moving freely?
So wanting to see him do big minutes for 1st team

Came off at half time. Nothing really to write home about tbh, he was just getting some game time in a match situation and didn't look to be busting a gut to get the ball. The only real stand out has been Waine imo.
22 Dec 04:09

WeeNix concede a penalty, 1-2

22 Dec 04:28

Eastern levels things up from a free kick, 2-2

22 Dec 04:53

Ends 2-2 and the TAB breathes a massive sigh of relief.

How were the first team members?

Seemed to be moving alright, didn't get on the ball much and spent most of the half at jogging pace but pushed it a bit harder a couple of times and there didn't seem to be any ill effects. He asked to play in the game, apparently, which says a lot about his attitude and that he wants to get his fitness up.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Weenix v Southern is a "curtain raiser" so whatever you can do for main game you can do to see both.

Wilson sent off for the Wee Nix, anyone know how he picked up two yellow cards in the same incident?
