We're trying to get a sizeable group of us behind the team this year, so who on here can we expect to see at the first game to make some noise?
With TW and the Phoenix away, and depending on the time frame I might try and shoot up to catch it and catch up with some acquaintances that will likely be there.
HappyTed - "Ay oop, them kiwi's 'ave no idea ow to support football'
Hostie - "I heard someone say something positive, I bet he works for New Zealand Football"
HappyTed - "That's alright we're the greatest supporters in the land, you and I, them locals have no idea"

The only problem with a Sunday afternoon is the traffic getting home is just vile.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Will have the junior news with me (he'll have his arm in a cast) plus Smithy246 and maybe one other.
Three for me, and two for them.
Actually i suspect Ric is more likely to get down here for a Phoenix game than follow Auckland to Palmy going on the last time I spoke to him.
Three for me, and two for them.
Circumstances mean I'm not going to get there today. Good luck.
Welcome to a wet FMG Stadium for this season opener between YoungHeart Manawatu and defending champions Auckland City. It has been raining all day in Palmerston North and the players will have to contend with a slight westerly wind.

It's all over at FMG Stadium with Auckland City making a great start to their title defence thanks to Bryan Little's hat-trick.
5182 is the largest post count I care to find... shame only about 2 of them have been about football.
Manawatu didn't do themselves any favours, resorting to pumping it long over their midfield and getting increasingly panicked. Some good play when they thought about it and they'll be feeling that the scoreline doesn't fairly reflect their ability.
Good to hear the Green Frenzy plugged by the ground announcer although I agree with Feverish's post in another thread about it being a bit cheeky to nick the shirt design without asking, but on the upside at least someone's getting behind an NZFC team in Palmy. I'll do my best to make the trip up for the Frenzy's first official game.
Spoke to some lads behind the goal at one end who were doing their best at getting some chanting going. The only other chant going on was variations on "f**k off ref you c*nt"...unfairly aimed at ref Cross who was, for the impartial spectator, doing a very good job.
All in all an entertaining afternoon.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
