single worst "chant" I have ever heard

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

I'm sorry but the language in the Fever Zone is no worse than what you would hear when you walk through any school playground!

Some people just need to grow the f**k up! Can't wait to get back into the Zone on Jan 4th so I can swear my tits off!!!

That's the spirit C-Diddy.  It's all about you, eh?  As long as you can do what you like, nothing else matters.  Don't worry about trying to grow the family market and helping to guarantee the future of the Phoenix.....as long as you can freely and happily say f**k and c**t, that's all that really matters.

I totally agree!

Billy Conelly had this same drama

i remember he said about the lady approaching him and saying how she didnt like the swearing in his pieces even though he is very funny(in this case people dont like the swearing but love the football)

and his words were

"I DIDNT ASK YOU TO f**kING LISTEN TO IT! IT WAS YOUR f**kING CHOICE"

exactly right -
yes you would hear that same language in a school ground but not from adults.
We should be trying to encourage people to attend the matches, the swearing will put people off, it wont make people attend - it's simple really.
C-Diddy could go to the other end of the ground and swear all he likes if he has to, or maybe just leave the swearing for home.

Excuse me?  Why should someone who's paid to watch a football match have to move themselves and their kids from their allocated seats?

This is the level of the Fever Zone now??

And people are debating that this is ok, that it is what families should have to expect and put up with??

Yes some people have to grow up, but the question is who.

It certainly isnt the parents taking their kids to the game

No, bollocks to that.

There is no point in the use of the language (certainly in the two 'chants' in question here).  It's rubbish.

To be fair though C-Diddy at the other end of the stadium works for me though... he'd love to join any visiting Newcastle fans.

Some people really need to think before they post or open their mouth. The two chants mentioned in this thread are pathetic.
Then again some people think it's funny to post a chant suggesting Michael Harding should have taken the train.

Not simple, not simple at all. This sounds dangerously close to the kind of sh*t that was trotted out last season such as "If you don't like having drunks throwing piss all over you, you can move. Simple".

I swear as much as anybody, and probably more than most, but the "I'm at the football so I can do what I like. If they don't like it they can piss off" attitude gets on my nerves. If I'm at a game, I'll swear, just like most people, but if there's somebody near me with young kids who is offended then I'll keep it down. Maybe it's just the way I was brought up.

As for "Get into him, f**k him up"! Man, that's a quality chant. It must have taken somebody months to come up with something as articulate and witty as that. I'm surprised it hasn't featured in the BBC's Chants of the Week. Opposition fans must be rolling in the aisles when they hear that one.....

Holy! I didn't realise my innocent comments would cause such controversy!

What makes people think that I deliberately set out to try get in as much foul and abusive language as I possibly can in 90mins before returning to my dull, insignificant exsistance until the next home game? Maybe I should write out a script for when I come over in January and post it on here so that people can comment on the words I can and cannot say during the heat of the moment!

As for chanting with "naughty" words in it, who really cares? As long as it has good humour intended and is not racist then I cant see an issue with it at all.

By the way, being Australian myself I find the "Same Old Aussie's" Chant extremely f**king offensive but do you see me getting all fired up about it? You can't? That's because it has it's place as a football chant at the RoF.

Let's not sterilize the Fever Zone. It is unique in New Zealand Sport and should be left to evolve over time.

What do people think about chanting "You're so sh*t it's unbelievable"?

Personally I'm not against a witty chant that might have the odd swear word but I agree with the majority on here that "get into him, f**k him up" is a useless chant regardless of whether it has swearing or not.

It does demand aggression though, but its not as if a player is really going to put in a rash tackle and hurt some one because a chant said so

Maybe I was imagining it, but I thought the swearing / obnoxious chant level dropped noticably at the Mariners match.  And no drop in the passion shown by fans, I thought the zone was in fine form.

Have to admit to being someone that swears a lot when i get a few drinks in me. My intention is not to upset anyone - I can just get carried away in the moment. If anyone finds anything i am saying or doing offensive they are welcome to have quiet word with me. I may swear but i am not agressive and want everyone to enjoy their time.

On that note i find the removing of ones tops for the 'boys' equally offputting and i image also so do for some of the punters of young children, especially girls as much as swearing is offputting for others, but each to their own - i dont tell them to keep them on. Some of you use nudity to support the team i use offensive words sometimes - bit of give an take if you ask me.

Definatley kick out to bottle throwers and beer spillers though - knobjokeys the lot of them if you ask me!

I think the crux of the issue is -
using the f word in a chant is unacceptable
& if kids are in your vicinity to tone things down a bit.

I actually disagree and agree.

I agree that in a chant it is unacceptable but in angst, dismay, concern, excitement etc it can be acceptable most of the time.

I agree if anyone (not just kids) in the vicinity find it offensive then be respectful but believe that we cant please everyone all of the time and that means some of time we have to enjoy ourselves even if that is at the expense of a few sometimes
