Oh.  My.  God.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

And DISCO is good enough in your extensive supporting experience? Your having a laugh - and by the way you didn't make that one up - its been around for many years.

So let me get this this straight - just cos the mighty Stefan doesn't join in means the chant is not worthy - who made you in charge.

It was a flop - people have to get used to it. Not everyone wan*s over this forum like you and may not have known - and sorry to burst your bubble but this forum is not the govening body of what happens or doesn't on the terraces - it represents a very small number of the people acually turning up every week

As with any chant it needs to be repeated to get maximum participation

Hmmm.. Im sure all your points are valid..
I just dont give a f**k.
I love people on these forums who just cant take a joke.
Everyone on here is entitled to an opinion, just like you are.
You like the DINGO chant. I dont. Get over it.

Disco is good because everyone knows it, its popular, it livens up the mood in the zone and we can dance.
Where as DINGO has negative connotations and its not something appropriate to dance to and certainly does not liven up the mood.

I dont care if its not origional.
Alot of our chants arent.

Im fine..
But this is an open forum where you can share your views.
And attacks like that are not appreciated.. Even though I may have attacked him back

the point is, that whilst people might be interested in your views on football (share to your heart's content)

you can both keep the niggle out of it

Anyway.
Other than the fact that I dont like the dingo chant (enough on that)
It is very hard to actually get new chants going.
"Hooked on durante" "we love you siggy" etc.. has been sung heaps of times at games, but people just give us weird looks or laugh.
Yeah, okay.. you want an alternative to Disco.
But its there, people know it. Its done once (maybe twice) in a game so people cant be too sick of it.
Disco is something that people look forward to.
Its fun and it breaks up the monotony of offensive chants and constant "Oh Wellington." (and news' random outbursts of hate, anger and depression)

ps. Santy, you owe me a beer for all this.

I can take a joke - i seriously doubt you were joking though.

I didn't say i didn't like the DISCO chant. I like the DISCO chant for most of very same reasons you have noted. (I think if you really want to dance you should go to ballet).

What i said was:
a) No chant belongs to any one person and we should not be told otherwise by anyone least of all you and
b) Its used at the inappropriate time to be effective

Mate, look.
I know it doesnt belong to anyone in particular. Its just known in our group that its santy's job to start it.. And Yellow Fever is meant to be fun, why cant we dance a bit?
I have given you my reasons (in the post before your one). so lets stop arguing.

I think its having that 'our group' mentality that makes others feel seperated and not included - therefore minimising the effect of others participation in any chant (or the YF in general) - Infact maybe (ands its for the for another thread) a contributing factor to why crowd numbers have dropped is because of the feeling of exclusion ( as well sundays games, weather, finances  etc etc). Food for thought anyway.

Your right the YF is meant to be fun and it is fun but its also meant to be inclusive and assigning chants to one person and then telling the forum community that thats the way it is is exactly the opposite. No problem with people dancing, knock yourselves out, me - i i'd rather watch the football.

I don't think we are arguing

Perhaps "our group" is the wrong wording..
People can join in if they want to, there is nothing stopping them.

And nobody is excluded by yellow fever.
There is nothing wrong with joining in.
The gold zone is very good at starting the PHOENIX chant now and they start their own chants.
We are all there to watch the football but its just nice to have a bit of fun throughout it.. I think thats what Yellow fever is.

Everyone else is entitled to start their own chant and we are very happy join in if its simple or we know it.

I think if anyone is to be accused of exclusion.. Its Red Badge.
Putting security guards outside the entrance to aisle 21 and 22 is a little intimidating for people.
But there is nothing stopping people from sitting elsewhere.

Why can't you dance to the DINGO chant?

Animals can dance too, haven't you seen Madagascar?

Probably not that tasty, are they?

That's a good compromise though Sanday!

They already think we're sheep-shaggers over there, maybe it should be "let's all shag a dingo"?
