To make matters complicated, I was just given SBW fight tickets. Suppose I can stay for undercard... might just give 'em away.

Can't make the U20s match but keen to head to Waitak v Phoenix on the Wednesday night

Will def be at both.

Smithy and I talked about going up on Sunday but he's bailed on me. May still go but have to stop being Nigel No mates first.

Where to congregate? I assume that the main stand will be the only seating available, so which side?

Yay, my team have a bye this weekend, so definitely coming on Sunday.

Kind of sucks that Auckland vs. Canterbury ITM Cup game is on at the same time, so some sports fans will pick to go to Rugby as Auckland vs. Canterbury as it is a big fixture and it seems like the first time it is cheap enough to go to Eden Park to watch a game, to check out the new stadium. linds22011-07-11 17:55:34

Solid crowd. Just over 4000. Game's ok. One U20 tried to start a scrap with manny. Great idea! Same old new zealanders.

What I can't understand is that they wouldn't serve alchol because it is a kids event? I was dying for a beer or 2 on a Sunday Arvo. It's not like I was going to get rowdy and start fights

Plans for the season? Anyone want to road-trip down for a game?

I'm thinking of having a go a a certain Melbin-midget in week 4.

Might be keen on a road-trip, but I should warn you guys, I'm anti-social and weird.

I'd be keen for a road trip as well if we can get a van together or something. The one thing not in our favour is that there's only one Saturday game at home this year so the rest of the fixtures rely on everyone being able to get a day off. Still, not that much of a big deal if we plan ahead I guess.

Memememememe. 100% defo on this. 7 of us already made a trip down to Welly earlier on in the year for the Newcastle game (if i remember correctly/much at all).

Should be 4-5 of us coming, if others wanna join in we might rent out a van again.

Looking at staying Tauranga Central Backpackers. Prob leave Sat noon, party it up, recover, Phoenix, drive back.

If there was a spare seat going in a car/van I would be keen to get in on it. I'm not much use behind a steering wheel but am good for gas money/hilarious stories/not falling asleep in the passenger seat.

Yep. Will book accommo in a couple of weeks, where to stay thats closer to the stadium? looking more and more like a trip down on sunday then back up early monday (auckland).

Day trip for me. Why do you reckon to stay a night?

I'm luke warm on going. Just done the Dunners trip so I'm keen to save a bit of cash. But the need to see the Nix might well overwhelm me. Hmm.

If you're going there and back in a day, Linds, I might be up for joining you. Although a night on the piss in the 'Ranga (does anyone say that? They should.) does sound good.

Game is 2:30pm on Sunday arvo on the 25th of September.

Plan is to leave at say 9:30 (which prob be 10-11am) from CBD, get in to, grab some food head to game. Leave Tauranga at say 5pm, get back to Auckland by 8-9pm. I have a car, has space for 5. Don't mind driving, although would rather not.

Drinking will be involved. 99% sure. Plans might change though.

I'm in too, unless I have to work because of rugby world cup. I'm probably free though, but I'll get back to you.
