So a bit last minute, but do people still go to Fox's?
I was there for Saturday's game, but not last night. Seemed a be a couple fewer than usual. I don't know if I will be there this weekend (Saturday, is it?).
I'll be there, and bringing a mate from Welly who (amazing as it is), has NEVER SEEN A PHOENIX GAME ON TV. I took her to a game (v Salty Dogs in February), but she doesn't have Sky so listens to the radio.
I might be there, I'm moving house so it depends on how quickly I finish that (I should get out of bed!) as to whether I come in to town. So I might see you there - I'll probably be wearing a Nix shirt with "Harper" on the back.
I would be there, but unfortunetely i am in Wellington :) sorry to make you jealous :P
You lucky prick! Looks beautiful down there! I've been moving house all day so I'm not in town.
Been in a few times and the most I seen is about 10-15 people
They have a few screens on and do show the nix with sound.
We had a great turn out for the prelim final last season.
I'm there most Friday or Saturday games but the numbers of other fluctuates. In recent weeks it really seems to be dwindling.
But Foxes do always without fail screen it, and have the sound. Although some times boff heads and pool playings get in the way. Such is life I guess, you've got to make do.
I'm currently living way out (Okura) so might not be in for a wee while. Probably will be moving closer to town in coming weeks (I'm like a gypsy at the moment!)
Anyway, it would be awesome to get a good crowd together to enjoy the games. It would also be good to get to know fellow Auckland Feverites in person, to put names and faces to forum names and to organise possible future road trips to the Ring of Fire!
Thinking about the Newcastle game on the 30th of January and the NQF game on Feb 13th. Both Sunday's, so I'll be heading back on the Monday. Anyway, gimme a yell.[/QUOTE]
I was going to pose this as a question but a statement is much better, see you there.
would have done any other weekend, i am attending a wedding though, wonder if they will notice if i vanish for a bit...
This Sunday mass gathering of Auckland 'Nix fans at Foxes 6pm.
Yup
Anyone heading to foxes today??
there were a whole bunch of us that couldn't make it on saturday (about 6 or so who regularly attend otherwise) most of the were down at the RoF itself. Did they play the game?
Fox's was great. Unfortunately most fans turned up late and missed most of the game (they stuck around for the rugby though).
The website has a calendar showing what will be shown.

Can you give an estimate on how many people came along
Foxes tomorrow. I am keen.
Defintly coming next year boys.. had an interview with Kevin Fallon.. Most nervous time of my life!!
Looking forward to those beers you are going to buy. Even if it my be illegal haha
I'm going to be in town anyway tonight, so if I'm not too stuff, see you at Foxes.
Well ill be there with 3 mates. Will be the lanky one with a shaved head. And wearing my nix scarf and t shirt
I think I talked to you briefly, didn't I? I was the only woman with a Nix scarf in the bar. :)
Yeap that was me
Are people going to be at Fox's for the GCU game? Once again, I have business around and about that evening so might as well stop by to watch the football afterwards.
Maybe... I got my parents to get Sky so while I'm living here I'll watch it at home. But if I'm in town I'll be sure to head to Foxes. But if I'm there I'm bound to be wearing the Nix shirt with HARPER on the back!
I'll be in about 10 minutes late due to odd train timetables.
I would've been there if some bastard hadn't broken in to my mate's car and nicked my bag - which contained a $2,300 camera. I wasn't in the mood for football.
I was there and had to put up with some drunken South African sneering at me for backing a team of losers.

just to save me reading 7 pages, have we decided on a 'base' for Aucklanders to gather to watch the game? I see theres 3 bars being bantered about
Hi Brad,
Some people go to fox's ale house in the viaduct. I have tried organizing some sort of yellow fever base up here. But have failed. It's the same old story here in Auckland. Half arsed supporters bar a few people.

ok, have we tried rallying all Aucklanders to go to a central place? (im new to the forum) or tried talking to the bar staff management to see if we can entice 'Nix fans out with cheep drinks? how does fox's work out?
I enjoy Fox's, although I can't get there for every game. I got carded the last time I was there, which was, er, flattering.
is there usually a good turn out at foxes? how do you manage to get carded at a bar? red or yellow?
I think she means she got asked for I.D.
Get some good numbers along to foxes and I will be there. Good luck trying though

ofcorse, duh, sorry too early for me haha.
do we normally get decent numbers there or are there other places people meet to watch the games?
also do foxes always have the games on with sound even if theres rugby on?
Was at Foxes last Wednesday night, met a nice bloke who was on the Waitakere United board. There was probably about 4-5 people just there to watch Phoenix.
I am keen to meet up at Foxes on the Sunday game, can't do this Wednesday too late to get back.

Been a Nix fan without Sky in Auckland since they began, can safely say that Fox's is the only bar I have encountered that will play the Phoenix no matter what else is happening.
I've been a bit slack this season, but for next season if at least 3 or 4 punters want to go down to games fairly regularly, I don't mind driving there and back and we can sort something out.
Also planning to get down for at least a couple of games after New Year, was gonna fly but if we can organise enough interest, I'm happy to stick my chauffeur's hat on. Thinking about the Newcastle game on the 30th of January and the NQF game on Feb 13th. Both Sunday's, so I'll be heading back on the Monday. Anyway, gimme a yell.

with the 13th being the final home game of the season i think we owe it to the nix to give them a good send off for the season so we should all make an effort to go down if we can!

This Sunday mass gathering of Auckland 'Nix fans at Foxes 5pm.

I'm tempted... I may be out that way this arvo, in which case I'll be there.
