I've heard talk of someone organising a trip to Sydney to see the Phoenix vs Bling in November. I've got a few lads who are keen.

Anyone got some info?

I won't be coming on the tour unfortunately Thommo but we'll be at the game in numbers. About 20 of us are going to the Melbourne Cup the week before, then heading to Sydney and meeting up with a bunch of ex pat Kiwi's and we'll all be heading to the Phoenix vs Bling game.

I'll probably make the Jan 11th game seeing as I'm likely to be in Oz for Chrimbo and NY

I'm so gutted I miss that game. I fly out to Osaka (from Sydney) on the 10th. My old flatmate who now lives in Sydney put his foot down, and wanted two more days in Japan, rather than a 'Nix away game

Going to that match - but turning it into an extended stay. Managed to get cheap Emirates flights flying out of Auckland on the afternoon of the match = $436 return = bargain

Come on lads get on board - would be great to have a sea (30) of lads in yellow for the Sydney Clash.  At this stage via DB I have organised a wee bar tab on match day as a bonus (outside ground).
 
Need to confirm numbers with a $150 deposit by end of June.  Have about 15 confirmed to date.

Hopefully making my own way there - have friends and family in Sydney, and will probably spend  bit of time back in Nowra rather than in the big city outside of the match. Fingers crossed I can raise the money - one of my friends there is already bugging me to go visit her

I'm going over with a bunch of lads and meeting some more there, we'll be happy to come meet up with your lads before the game (and help with the bar tab).

We can rock up to the game in numbers and make some noise.

Feverette and I booked our flights yesterday.  Didn't take the offer of the package (just like Melbourne last year) so that I could use up some of my company supplied airpoint dollars ;)

Got airfares with AirNZ on the website for $368 return (+poxy taxes of $125) - bargain!

We really enjoyed Melbourne last season and are really looking forward to Sydney in Nov..... C'mon the Phoenix!

Im not a complete idiot, some parts are missing!

Flights booked, Wellington - Melbourne for cup day, then
up to Sydney for the nix game. Can't wait!!!!!

Mrs Turf and Turfette will be joining me on this excellent adventure.  Hoping to enlist a couple of ex-pats in Sydney to join us the zone.
 
Flights still only $195 + taxes each way (works out around $500 return pp).  Get into it!

Tickets available thru Ticketek Australia ( oh noooo..) @ AUD19 for Away supporters (behind the goal I assume).   Just buy from Ticketek when you get there or at gate (or online if you want to risk it).

I have my flights sorted. 
 

My Questions:

1. Are you going?

2. Recommendations on Accommodation - of course have goggled and been to Sydney before but wondered where those of you that are going are staying?

3. Match Tickets - can't imagine it�s going to be sold out but should I get tickets online in advance or is on the gate on the night safe?

4. Pre/Post Match drinking holes - Is there a common meet place?

Replying to both threads, but heading over to Sydney for 4 weeks from AKL for work at short notice. WIll be on my own but massively keen to head to the game
 
Will probably just go straight from work to the stadium (if I survive), I assume there's only 1 away section?
