Hi there,

I'm from the Netherlands 26 years old, I have no roots in New Zealand or anything of that kind, but I've been always interested in New Zealand since I was young. Since 2010 World Cup I got more and more interested in football in New Zealand. Especcially in Phoenix first and digging in deeper also the ASB Premiership (no favourite team). I think football in New Zealand is getting bigger and bigger since players like Ryan Thomas broke through at PEC Zwolle.

Now I'm planning to visit New Zealand next year. (2016)

Hope I can contribute at this forum by following players like Ryan Thomas and Harry Edge etc.

Welcome to the forums, hope you do get to travel over to New Zealand next year and it is during the Phoenix season so you can join us for a game.

What local team/s do you support?

Let's hope I can visit a game ;), but I will definitly buy a replica t shirt.

I'm a huge fan of Arsenal FC.

I'm not really supporting any teams in the Netherlands, I like teams like Feyenoord and Fortuna Sittard but I don't support them in a way like I would go to games.

A dirty gunner fan eh...

I think you can order and get the Nix shirt shipped from the Wellington Phoenix store to you directly, others might know. If not I would be happy for you to buy it and send to me and then I get it sent to you.

Ha, dirty gunner ;) I assume you'r not a fan of Arsenal? No prob.

Thanks for the offer to buy me a shirt, but I think I'll buy it when I'm in NZ. That way I'm sure I'll have the right size. ;)

I also would like to visit a rugby game, any ideas on that?

Not much rugby here. Best try Oz or Canada.

There is many, many rugby games on here. Depending on what you want to watch at what level and how much you want to pay. Have ITM cup which is a NZ province league, then Super rugby that includes Australia and South Africa, then you will have the national team, all blacks.

Uncanny!

I don't know any of the other villages, but my relatives are Jos, Piet and Pierre Colen.

Piet is an electrician, Jos is his wife, Pierre is their son, he works in the supermarket in Banholt. I believe his Aunty owns and runs the supermarket... do you know them?

We also have a few relatives in Horst, last name Scheres.

Haha! I know Pierre he's a mutual friend!

I don't know about your relatives in Horst that's a little further away from my hometown.

What a "small" world we live in ;)
