I now it's early and this season hasn't even finished and next seasons draw isn't out but I wanted to put it out there to others. After we have had some great group of opposition fans travel to us, it's time we got a decent group of Yellow Fever people together for an away game. I don't really care which game but of course Sydney/Melbourne games maybe easier/cheaper. So this is a thread to put down your interest, discuss games to go to as the draw comes out and too START SAVING for #FeverTua
Fever Tour of Duty 2016/17 | #FeverTua | Brisbane 25th Feb | Date Change
I'm in to help. Will be in for the trip too obviously.
Excellent cheers, closer to will start emailing with you to try organising it and see what travel deals we can org
Count me in. Air points FTW
Keen as mustard.
Bucket list, if only. Gotta get new passport and more importantly, wife's approval.
Travelling fans! That will keep Gallop happy #metrics
If you are thinking multi game, its pretty rare to get two games in the same state back to back. heart/victory last happened 2011/12, NSW once in 13/14 and twice this season.
Im Melbourne based, but would be interested in travel next season.

Yeah was hoping for a back to back so make the most of the trip if we could, even if it is a like a Sydney game and you travel a bit to Newcastle or Central Coast to get the 2nd one in.
I will be there in all likelihood.
I would like to join this, Possibly the wife would to. Keep me updated. My Pref would be early 17 rather than late 16 but that's just me
Spoke to wife about it tonight. She said depends where, I'm not going to perth. What she didn't say was no you can't go even if I don't. Soooo let's go.
Haha nice! Yeah I was thinking more the East coast of Australia but really can't make any firm plans until draw comes out. Just want to have people start thinking about this.
Think east coast is more viable for us to get a large lot of us going. In reality the NSW based teams would be the way to go even if we ended up going to CCM. (Gosfords a bit crap for a night out after though)
Yeah, i'm very keen to do this. Will follow up when a draw is out and look at what either lands on a long weekend or a double header, but most likely look at Melbourne/Sydney games instead of Adelaide/Perth for cost.
Preference would probably be for a Saturday Game in either Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney

Afternoon game. Train back to the City. Hammer.

The Gosford RSA is top notch.
I am too shark scared to mention this to the wife. It is a bucket list item for me, but after this last season, she will probably divorce me.

When does the games normally get announced?
Few weeks after the final IIRC

I cannot even "This point" this or I might find a horses head lying in bed the next morning!!
Last game of the season. Easter in brisbane anyone?

I am thinking about this, its really hard to find a good date due to all our away games being either Sunday 7x, Monday 2x and Thursday 2x.
Canberra is a possibility and I think the Nix are doing something for that game. Others would have to be trips and people are prepared to take AL

Honestly I'm happy to take leave.
The regular travellers have been let down again by the draw when it comes to double headers.... If there's going to be a Fever Tua this year, please let me recommend the Brissie away game on 26 February.
1, There is always a large number that travel to this game anyway - estimated 30-50 regular travellers PLUS locals - there are already good numbers committing to this game.
2, Easy and cheap (ish) to get to, particularly when Air NZ has specials on.
3, We get very well looked after by the local fans and pubs (big shout out to the Hotel LA and the Den!)
4, Plenty of notice so easier to make arrangements.
5, Plenty of options for those that want to make more than just a weekend of it!
Just do it! :-)
Ok so we do seem to have some interest in Brisbane away.
Does anyone else have a particular trip they want to do? Was thinking Sunday night games away might be better then if people want we have the weekend over there and at most maybe only take Monday as Annual Leave.
I have already booked flights for me and the family (including Baby Smithy due October) to Brisbane away in Feb. So I'll be there!

As people have said mate, you will never get a day that fits with everyone. My thoughts are pick the game / weekend asap, and publish some suggested flights and Hotels. (Maybe a few in the same area covering a bit of a price range)
Giving plenty of notice will allow everyone to make all the necessary arrangements.
It would be pretty awesome to have as many people as possible travelling over and staying in the same places if at all possible.
Perhaps fly over Saturday Morning, return Monday Arvo / evening which essentially gives a full day Saturday , Sunday and half day Monday and back in time for work on Tuesday. As it stands today, you could do that for around $539 + accommodation
People will undoubtedly head over for other away trips as well but it would be great to make one a "biggie".
Just my $0.02 worth

Based on previous #FeverTua experience I endorse these ideas. Just pick a game, and a pub, and then encourage everyone to get there. People will pick their own flights based on airline preference, how many airpoints, cost, etc etc.
Is generally useful to reach out to local active support to get some ideas for pubs.
The main reason I suggested Brissie is that all the above requirements are easy as this is a well trodden path.
Pub, easy - The Den home pub is the Hotel LA on Caxton Street. They will open a separate outdoor (but covered) bar for us which is great for singing and mingling with the home fans. There is no animosity between the two fan groups and regardless of the result, we will happily be in each other's bars all day / night. I've been several times and never seen any problems. The LA will put on drink specials for us as well. Most of all, we are made very welcome there and the banter is excellent!
There's also tons of accommodation options and it's a regular flight route from all major transit points in NZ and Aussie. Flights on special will be around $400.
And I agree - let's not overcomplicate the first proper away Fever Tua. Game, date, pub - see you there! Any other coordination is incidental. :-)
Cool, I'll look into it and contacting people there now then.
Brissy is easy as stated above. Heaps of accom options. Good locals too. And awesome weather/beer.
