Four from Hamilton going Brisbane in February Last away as always

I'd be keen for Brisbane away again! Had a superb time there last time, the Den lads even bought me plenty of shots to help me forget that Solorzano scored a 93rd minute winner.

Cool, will get in touch with Brisbane supporters. Have a look at flights and Motels.

People that have been before, any advice would be great.

Ok so we do seem to have some interest in Brisbane away.

Does anyone else have a particular trip they want to do? Was thinking Sunday night games away might be better then if people want we have the weekend over there and at most maybe only take Monday as Annual Leave.

As people have said mate, you will never get a day that fits with everyone. My thoughts are pick the game / weekend asap, and publish some suggested flights and Hotels. (Maybe a few in the same area covering a bit of a price range)

Giving plenty of notice will allow everyone to make all the necessary arrangements.

It would be pretty awesome to have as many people as possible travelling over and staying in the same places if at all possible.

Perhaps fly over Saturday Morning, return Monday Arvo /  evening  which essentially gives a full day Saturday , Sunday and half day Monday and back in time for work on Tuesday. As it stands today, you could do that for around $539 + accommodation

People will undoubtedly head over for other away trips as well but it would be great to make one a "biggie".

Just my $0.02 worth

Based on previous #FeverTua experience I endorse these ideas. Just pick a game, and a pub, and then encourage everyone to get there. People will pick their own flights based on airline preference, how many airpoints, cost, etc etc.

Is generally useful to reach out to local active support to get some ideas for pubs.

If its in Brisbane we (Brisbane NIX supporters) have had a relationship with the Hotel LA since 2012 so that's sorted. All people have to do is turn up, drink etc - it's also kid friendly.

Thanks Nikio, yeah sounds like it would be all sorted as far as pub and everything goes so I am just looking into flights and accomodation for the match now.

So this is a good deal for people wanting to head to the game in Brisbane, cheaper than what the travel agent is trying to offer me.

Wait what date did we lock in for the traveling Tour of duty??

Are we set on Brisbane (just making sure before I book flights?)

I'm booked in. Heading to Bryon Bay for a few days before the game. Then leaving Brisbane on Tuesday.

Sorry yes, going for the Brisbane game on 26th February. People can decide if they want to go Saturday (25th) or the day of the game Sunday (26th) morning and will maybe need to take AL for the Monday (27th) coming home. I did look into travel agent but they can't do flights cheaper than this Air NZ deal so when these pop up I suggest people that want to go book on them if they can.

I will still look into travel deals and also hotels/motels for people if they are interested. Main thing is just getting as many Fever people to this game.

I have two extra people now coming to this. Neither of them on the forums but both season ticket holders. Let's build our little travelling army!!!

Excellent stuff, I've been on holiday myself for last week but will get back into looking at accomodation. Where have people booked before? Also keep an eye out for Flights deals, see Air NZ had another one last week

19 year old student trying to find a way to make the game, shall i book early or wait for deals in the future?  flights are around $450 right now and still would have to sort out accommodation, game tickets, transport  and of course a lot of alcohol.

Hi Jaickin,

Good to have you on board, hard to say on flights but chances are there will be another sale on flights to Australia. I'm keeping an eye out and posting them on here when I see them.

The date change was caused by the AFC moving dates for the ACL, which meant the FFA had to change fixtures

I have another one added whoop whoop. Turns out he is in Sydney the week prior for work so is diverting his return leg through Brisbane

Stoked, I booked flights to Brisbane for that weekend without even realising it was a fever tour. Should be able to drag along another four Wellingtonians!

Has anything been sorted for accommodation yet or are we doing our own thing?

Doing your own thing - it's easier that way as everyone has different dates/preferences/price range.

As someone never been to Brisbane before, has anyone got any recommendations? Best area etc?

I recommend you stay somewhere around the Roma Street transport hub. There's plenty of accommodation around there to suit any budget. It's 10-15 minutes walk from the Hotel LA (Cnr of Petrie and Caxton Street) and the ground and 15 minutes the other way to the CBD. A load of us are staying in Tank Street (again) which is close! :-)

The Hotel LA (it's the "Lord Alfred" by the way!) will look after us all weekend - Dallas who manages the LA is from the Otaki / Levin area originally! After the game, no doubt we will end up in the Pig and Whistle (after the LA), it's great for EPL which is at a much better KO time in Brissie! No doubt we will meet up with the Den for our usual joint breakfast on Saturday morning as well.

Markets on Sunday are worth a look too and you will get a decent brekkie to get rid of the cider-fects of Saturday! :-)

I promise that you will have a blast. Oh, and be prepared for VERY wet weather on game day, just in case!

Looking forward to it. I was at the mecure all this week and loved the city.

Roma Street, Spring Hill, Southbank - all pretty easy and walkable with a few pitstops. Anywhere on the river handy for access to the ground too (via the city).

Hoping I can make it too - challenges, challenges.
