Who's got the cheapest flight back to NZ from UK for the semi final?

I remember when I was in the UK and my grandmother was gravely ill and I needed to get home like...that day...I went onto expedia.co.uk and picked up a flight from Heathrow to Auckland Via Hong Kong and KL for 550 squid for the next day. Cost me an extra NZ$200 return between AKL and WGTN though.

This was in 2006.

First thing to do is go onto www.amadeus.net and see what airlines fly the route. In addition to the obvious ones there are also the likes of Emirates, Malaysia, Thai etc. Or even Air Asia to Aussie and then Air NZ or Qantas across the ditch.

managed to get a 'next day' flight with air aseana last year wgn / ldn / wgn via seoul & sydney - good flight, good service. And lufthansa are doing specials from frankfurt at the moment...
