Newcastle away (via Sydney - the Heskey Express)

We're planning to do the day trip up the coast from Sydney to Newcastle on Sunday 18th. Proposed schedule is as follows:

9:15am - train departs Central (Sydney)
11:49am - arrive Wickham station (Newcastle)
12:00pm - arrive at The Albion Hotel  (voted best pub in Aus)
12:01-2:36pm (approx) - eat, drink, be merry

3:00pm - be at Hunter Stadium for kick-off

5:33pm - depart Broadmeadow station (near-ish the stadium)
8:17pm - arrive back at Sydney in time for a cup of tea and a lie down

A return train ticket will cost you $16.40. Match tickets for the Away section are $22 for an adult and can be purchased here.

If you're keen, see you at the station at about 9am next Sunday. Tell your friends - should be a good day out...

Hey SYDnix, theres a very real possibility I will be at this match now as I will be returning to Newcastle at sometime during the week for my Grandfathers funeral.

Not really sure what is happening as yet but will keep you posted throughout the week. Probably wont be much in the way of pre or post match shenanigans from me this time around because I will be aiming to catch up with a few people when i'm over there.

The Albion Hotel sounds great i am driving up saturday afternoon to spend day up there, cant wait to sing and chant away lifting the boys

The tough decision has been made to not travel home to Newcastle for my Grandfathers funeral, thus meaning I will not be at the match!

Still, good to see there might be a few yellow shirts floating around. As an extra bonus for those who are able to make it, the Albion is kicking off Newcastle Craft Beer Week on Sunday with a new beer release. Get the feeling I should've taken Monday off...
