If you are I might even buy you a beer.
If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Only just revisited this thread now. Mark it down as the day myself and Leggy turned a proverbial corner on this forum.

ill most likely be there and am thinking about road tripping it to newcastle in november too
looks like a win for us without smeltzy to worry about this time round :)
My family are going on a holiday to USA during December via Surfers Paradise, so if were around then will defently be making the trip to Robina!!
So these Yellow Army flags how hard would it be to take one over? If the mod/owner lets me
PM Feverish (unless he's lost them again)

Yea three of us are trying to price a trip over there now.. Anyone know how to get there from inner city? Heard there is a train..
I'm not sure, havn't looked into that yet but just presuming there is a bus? Anyone keen for pre match drinks somewhere?
Sounds like we'll outnumber the GCU fans at this rate!
I Should really get this sorted as work will be wanting leave applications in soon..

I will be over there (for my honeymoon) - just trying to convince the Mrs to go to the game as well, staying in Surfers so not really sure on how to get to Robina.

Easy peasy. They have free shuttle buses running from the Pacific Fair Shopping centre to Robina (at least they did this time last year).I know, I know, its serious!

Cheers, now to try convince the Mrs to go
Can pilot guy fly us over?
I wish mate!
Has anyone booked flights or accomdation yet? If so where and who with?
We booked flights with AirNZ and we are staying at villa de la mer
Just got back from GCU game.
If you are getting a train to the stadium then the Robina station is across the road - if you buy your match ticket before hand the train travel is free.
If driving by car, as we did, you can't park close to the stadium but they have a park and ride (by shuttle bus) system. On the advice of a GCU forumer we went to RQs tavern before hand for a beer and meal - it was very good on all counts. Some of the beach meet there before hand so you can have a beer and chat with the locals. RQs is in Robina and provide a free shuttle bus to and from the game (about 5 mins to stadium). If there are a few of you without a car, or you all want to drink, you might even want to get a taxi to and from RQs - it's not that far (10mins) from downtown Surfers.
We just bought our tickets at the game - almost no queue.
Enjoy !!
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)
I did the park and ride thing for this game too, and it worked very smoothly. didn't go to the pub as just wanted to do a quick trip to game and back to Coolangatta where the family was, but locals on the busses were good to chat to. i get the feeling they're quite an oppressed sporting minority really, in a sea of rugby league (and lesser extent AFL with new team coming next year).
Can't wait for this trip now haha... will it kill my watching the Nix not lose streak :/
