lola t saying if he cant take the heat to one of the most successful managers in history

So week in week out, refs make awful decisions, you have millions of dollars riding on your shoulders, when you report refs to the FA nothing happens... what would you do? Sit there and take it? I think not.

It also applies to the opposition team as well. Fergusson is making it out as if it is a conspiracey against United. But sadly, the refs are just the same with the other ELP clubs as well as in Europe.

Lg, do you know how many penalties we've been ripped off recently?

Anyway, SAF wants to improve the quality of refs. Why can't he have a well backedup whine. Michael2009-11-09 22:05:51

I actually think the ref got that one right.  Far from hauling him down, it was shoulder to shoulder and both fell.  A little untidy maybe but no foul.  People always forget the old shoulder to shoulder rule.  I used to get away with a lot of shoulder barging in my day!

Fergie and United have had more that thier fair share of dubious ref calls over the years. its never bad ref'ing if its in his favour, he is such a hipocrate

SAF only wants refs that see the game his way and if they don't they are automatically bad. Now when United are hard done by no one really cares because of SAF. he has only himself to blame. Unfortunatly, he is now starting to get a name not just for himself but for Man United as well.

Perhaps it's time for him to retire? Before he destroys all the good he has created over the years.

Your only arguments are based on him being hypocritical. Face it, that goal should not have been given, following three wrong calls.

And as I said before, if you read everything he ever says, you'll see he isn't that hypocritical. It just so happens Arsenal and all other fans get attracted when United lose.Michael2009-11-09 22:32:29

Shoulder to shoulder doesn't mean you can barge them. (Not relating this comment to the game though)

I haven't called him hypocritical, I just said that if the referee doesn't referee the game the SAF way, then they are bad referees. No referee would make him really happy, not even Collina.

when he had a go at alan whiley for 'not being fit enough' the ref council or wateva its called looked over his stats and it turns out he was well within limits eg 17m from the ball on average (limit is 20) and he rean further than all but 3 players.

and to say united should be getting at least one penalty a game is a bit hopefull

hahaha look i dont mean to sound too one eyed or anything, but if u think that was legitimately shoulder to shoulder then you are either blind or too blatantly biased to look properly, either that or u havent seen it.

watch the replays mate, Valencias out paced him, instead of going for the ball, he grasps out, grabs a handful of his shirt and pulls down with his whole body going down in the process, valencia lands well after him, if thats shoulder to shoulder, then i need to read the rules apparently

I don't think a wee winge in the media is going to destroy anything SAF has done in becoming one of the greatest managers ever. I'd rather he didn't do it, but I'm not going to forget the one or two trophies he's won.

I don't know exactly what he said to be fair, I havn't read them exactly, but if he had questioned the quality of the refereeing then I think he has a very, very fair point after the Chelsea match. The ref made a number of bad calls. I'm not going to blame the ref for us losing, I just think there were a number of interesting decisions made. The quality of officiating was poor, but I think it happened both ways, not just against United.

That Alan Wiley thing, I don't even remember, was that against Sunderland? When we only got a draw?

Thing is, there are 19 other teams in the EPL and most of those piss poor referees do their games and a few Championship games too. We all suffer. I've seen Chelski ripped off plenty, Mind you, Dropfast has earned his reputation but he did get kicked high on this occassion.

What SAF needs to do is just get on with managing his side. Everyone is copping the same poor decisions from some very average referees and as long as the Referees Association keep their heads in the sand instead of trying to lift  the standards, thing will not change. Bit like the A League really. As I said in another thread, bring in Collina to run a few courses and or be an assessor of referees. He would lift the standards.

JT blatantly used his hips. :l

Re Droga... I have seen little replays of this, no idea why he was booked, but he didn't have a hope in hell of getting the ball, foot there or not.

Refs run into a United game thinking, "I hope I don't give them an easy penalty" Which is a bad mentality. And really, why can't Managers have a whine? If a whine leads to mass riots then I agree to punish them, but they don't. FA just protecting them because they're more often than not, sh*t.

Yeah. Cos he always does it! Remember in a Champion's League game (maybe the 1-1 at Anfield? Not sure though) where he got tackled, started rolling on the ground and didn't get up. However, he was off the pitch and, sick of his antics, we played on. Then, suddenly, he had rolled back on to the pitch and the ref was forced to stop play! An absolute disgrace, Mind you, with Ngog yesterday, I probably can't take the moral highground. But still...

thats a pretty big call, when fit he consistantly scores goals, and creates them. we are a far better team with him on the field.

Definitely agreeing.  Just pointing out what an obnoxious little git Ronaldo was despite his huge talent which is why you can never really love a player like that totally even when he's one of your own.  Just in case Man U fans had forgotten!
