For moi, Tiger beer is 2nd only in it's headache generating capacity to Newcy Brown: so it it is probably of favorable portent if TB is not your sponsor for 09/10.

Well I saw an experiment once where they dropped a worm into a glass of water and it just wriggled around. They then dropped the worm into a glass of Tiger Beer and it died within a few seconds, which prompted the demonstrator to say "See, if you drink Tiger Beer, you don't get worms"!

What are your guys opinion of Manucho? I know he scored that crucial goal to win a game when you hadn't won for ages and probably kept you up, but he didn't play much.

He looked good in the African Cup of Nations in 2008, scoring some real crackers, and on that performance it looked like his move to Man Utd could be sort of warranted but now does not seem to be up to scratch.

The general consensus is that Manucho couldn't score in a brothel.
CCC quality at best and seems to lack pace an direction.

Brit media has rumours of a bid for Owen  (woops no need for surprise, we aren't a league 1 side anymore)

at least he'd provide Jimmy Bullard with a bit of competition ... for the treatment table

Lol, I think everyone in the Prem league is being linked with Owen. Still, we'll see where he goes.
Harewood would be nice and heard City are looking at Nolan as well.

Hull City manager Phil Brown has revealed the club intends to speak to Michael Owen's representatives "within the week''.

<!-- // .ndmadkit -->

Owen confirmed on Monday he will be leaving Newcastle at the end of his contract with the former England striker available on a free transfer.

He is expected to command considerable interest from the Premier League and abroad but Brown believes the Tigers can pull off a notable coup by snapping up the 29-year-old former Liverpool and Real Madrid star.

"We will be speaking to Michael's representatives within the week,'' Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "I would think he would have a number of offers and we'll have to be competitive.

"But I wouldn't sit down with him if I thought I was wasting my time. Anything is possible in football.''

Owen claimed the link with Hull was a "new one'' to him when asked about the possibility of moving to the KC Stadium. But Brown is adamant the lure of first-team football could tempt Owen to East Yorkshire.

He added: "I don't think Michael will go for the best financial offer, I don't think it's about that for him at this stage of his career, he'll want the best offer for his future.

"He needs to spend a high percentage of next season's games at the highest possible level and that's where we can come in.''

Brown acknowledged a player with Owen's record would not come cheap, adding on talkSPORT: "Breaking the bank is not a term the chairman would be keen on. But he's certainly someone that you would push the boat out for. He's a world-class international footballer.

"There's been a lot of documentation about injuries and being unable to fulfil contracts because he can't get on the field of play.

"But as far as I'm concerned, with a good pre-season under his belt, he's still a quality player and if I could sit around the table with Michael Owen I would be interested in doing that.

"It would be exciting to get someone through the door that could possibly score you 15 or 20 goals a season. That would be a fantastic achievement.''

Word has it that Michael has said "Thanks, but no thanks" to Hull City but if nobody else comes in for him then he might just join us.
Also confirmed today by "City Independent" that we have signed Marc-Antoin Fortune on a three year deal worth 25 grand per week.

Well, Scott McDonald may be able to score goals against the lesser minions of the Scottish Premier League but he has failed to score in 13 attempts for the Socceroo's and, imo, is nowhere near the standard required for the English Premier League.
Micheal Owen is reported to have said "It's news to me" when questioned about a meeting with Hull City.
Fortune? Wow! 5 goals for West Brom last season! Would have to be on every Managers shopping list - NOT!
Fraizer, imo, wants the BIG crowds (like the 50,000 that 'Sunlan' get - or even Newcastle) so I still cannot see him joining us!

His 5 goals for the Baggies comprised a 'deflection' on his debut, 2 against Newcastle and 2 against Wigan. This leaves him 14 games without scoring at all.
Sorry but I am not impressed. His agent says he is going to Fulham or Wigan, Mowbray says he is coming to Celtic whilst Phil Brown says he is coming to us.
He'd be better off at Celtic for mine but will probably choose Wolves.

looks like he's a wideman, who could do to lose a bit of width,

still given that players aren't falling over themselves to sign for us perhaps we might put some paper in front of him

This guy has wheels, Thought he was always dangerous out wide but sort of lost his touch over last couple of seasons.

Speaking of wingers, What happened to Stelios? Last i heard we let him go and he ended up nailing a contract @ Hull last season

After a somewhat stellar career at Bolton where he played 137 games he came to Hull City but played a mere 2 games. He is currently playing for Greek side Larissa where he has scored 3 goals from 15 starts. At 35 Stelios is in the twilight of his career.

We loaned Thomas from the Arse a few years back and we wanted QPR to sign him. A very good buy if you get him. Better attitude than Jermaine Pennant whom he was with at the Arse. Very fast is used right.

Phil Brown has confirmed Hull City have accepted an offer from an unnamed Premier League club for Sam Ricketts.

Portsmouth and Bolton Wanderers have been linked with an interest in the full-back, with the latter said to be set to hand the 27-year-old a medical.
Bolton or Pompey?

Hull fans heard any rumors knowing if he is heading our way?

EDIT:
"
Portsmouth were reported to be interested in signing Ricketts but the Hull boss rejected the suggestion that they were the club involved."

Clears that up i think

Word on the boards is that the Club is Bolton Wanderers.
Sam is contracted for another year but requested a review. Phil Brown's appraisal of the situation was that Sam should pull his head in and gave him ten games to show what he could do. With no new players coming in, a certain Jimmy Bullard sat on his @rse and being paid over a 100,000 bucks a week and other prospective signings being offered much more than what Sam is on then, in Sam's position, if I was told to 'lift my game' (after being adjudged as one of Hull City's top three players last season) before I got a rise, then I too would lift my @rse right out of the Club like Sam has done.
Swansea (Sam's previous Club) are set to gain 10-20% of the transfer fee.

sorry to see Rickets go - and well put OzT

but almost worth it for this laugh off the Bolton W vital site

>>
The signing of full-back Sam Ricketts from Hull City must surely signal the end of Nicky Hunt`s career at Bolton Wanderers. Either that, or Gary Megson is planning to field an outfield consisting entirely of full backs. Even for a defensive minded manager such as him, that would appear to be a step backwards too far.

Hunt was having one of his better spells when displaced by Gretar Steinsson and hasn`t featured much since. Last season his most notable feat in a Bolton shirt was to be booked at Portsmouth whilst only being stood on the sidelines.
Once the formalities have been completed, Ricketts will become Megson`s fourth signing of the transfer window. The former Oxford and Swansea man played 29 league games for Hull last season and has 34 international caps. Although born in England, he is eligible to play for Wales as he owns a border collie and is fond of sheep.  <<

Vital sights are run by fans and tend to be more opinionated than professional though right

Reading that sums up your Bolton fan though, We all love Nicky Hunt and most want Megson and his defensive style out.

Wierd signing though, Ricketts cant be expect to start too many @ Wanderers next season..
