For all the Mickey Mousers getting excited about the game last night, I thought it was a pretty strange one. Liverpool started and ended the game well, but were only helped by a profligate Everton resting half of their first choice 11. The Liverpool first goal was a from a quick break where Everton had just butchered a 4 v 3, for the second time in the game. Even at 2-0, Everton had plently of possession and got into good positions but couldn't create chances due to (predominately) being wasteful and (occassionally) good defending.
Liverpool deserved to win, but I wouldn't start to get too excited about the future just yet.
We changed 4 players- they changed 6.
However, I do agree with your point. It was only Everton.
(On a serious note, I think we're not stupid enough to think we can get top 4 etc- we often are amped for the big games and lose to the likes of Sunderland away and that- just need a bit more consistancy)
