For all the Mickey Mousers getting excited about the game last night, I thought it was a pretty strange one.  Liverpool started and ended the game well, but were only helped by a profligate Everton resting half of their first choice 11.  The Liverpool first goal was a from a quick break where Everton had just butchered a 4 v 3, for the second time in the game.  Even at 2-0, Everton had plently of possession and got into good positions but couldn't create chances due to (predominately) being wasteful and (occassionally) good defending.

Liverpool deserved to win, but I wouldn't start to get too excited about the future just yet.

We changed 4 players- they changed 6.

I am not sure if you can compare replacing Cahill with Anichibe, with replacing Adam with Gerrard.  Everton rested 6 players, while Liverpool played their full strength team that they had available.
