contrary to popular belief it's not against the rules for loanees to play against their parent club

But in most cases the parent club will write it into the agreement

There are some unusual cases out there - from memory I think morientes scored a brace against Real Madrid for Monaco to knock them out of the champs league in 03/04 - may have to fact check that though

edit: checked it, correct except he got a goal in each leg rather than a brace. Why is it that I can remember these pointless facts yet I leave things on top of the car and drive off
