Complete change of direction? Established high end manager and throw cash at players?
I wonder if, due to the large competitive international transfer market in football, it has mostly been a more efficient/accurate way of perceiving value of players than is the case in baseball/other sports?
I think in football you have less wiggle room with signings if they don't pan out. american sports play so many games then their rosters are huge and players can be carried/hidden.
