Managers for the Sack
Possibly has something to do with needing a striker. Why sign anyone? Becasue we need to put players on the field.
Strange question...

Given Rodgers' abysmal record in the transfer market i would be asking him this too.

I think it's Ian Ayre who you should be talking to. Making judgements on this years signings after a few games is slightly premature. We might be 4 points out of relegation but were also 4 points outside of the Top 4. This bubble is indestructible and I will live within it's curved walls.

Who said he was judging this year's signings?
They've all been poor to average, sturridge aside.
So which EPL manager has never signed a 'dud '

'triffic lads.
Dougie Freeman gone from Bolton.
Have we enough space on the server to list Harry's poor signings? Well ok. The one at the forefront of them is Rio Ferdinand whom seems more interested in releasing snippets from his new book, doing Twitter and providing directly on 4 occassions, the ball to the opposition whom then score. A well past it player if ever.
BRs signings are quick fixes that the likes of City, United and Chelski can afford. They are generally unfinished articles that need work and this can go either way. Suarez was poor in his for season and flourished under BR as has Henderson and of late, Allen and Sterling. Sure, a few didn't pay off (Aspas, Borini) anda few are still early days and out on loan. I wouldn't call any of the signings this year a failure either, very early to be doing that.
Markovic is definitely a failure. He would struggle to get a start in the Central League.

So he's 20 years old, has only played 4 games for Liverpool (+2 from the bench) and he's already a failure?
Interesting point of view, not for its insight but rather for its lack of supporting argument.
He looks like a pub footballer. Impossible to convince you of that though given your "Must defend Liverpool at all times" stance.

Fan defends his team. What a bastard!
If he's rubbish over a sustained period, happy to admit he's a dud (Aspas, Adam, Downing, Carroll, Assaidi, Yesil), but wouldn't claim any player for any team was a dud after such a short period.
Some signings of his still have plenty of chance to prove their worth...
- Allen
- Coutinho
- Mingolet
- Sakho
- Lallana
- Can
- Lovren
- Origi
- Manquillo
- Moreno
- Balotelli

To me Coutinho is the odd one out here, imo he has already proven himself and just happens to be in a form slump over the past month, which is a different issue. He was an absolute monster in the latter parts of last season.

Sorry Fitzy, he was just on a list of players BR has signed.
Mingolet is far from rubbish but needs to either develop more of a voice at the back OR a CB in front of him who controls the area. Allen struggled to assert himself until the latter half of last season. I feel he made excellent progress from January onwards so will disagree.
According to rumours, Rodgers only has a limited say in transfer dealings. This was because of his questionable start in the transfer market.
What went on with the Watford 8 day manager
Would you want to stay in Watford for longer than that??

Harry...
Rodgers odds of being sacked have been cut from 20/1 to 8/1 - what an awful turnaround for him from the high of last season.
Harry...
Hope so and he can take Hoddle, Jordon and Bond with him.
Liverpool are showing just how much Suarez meant to them last season.
Surely Rodgers has to go. Been shown up for the clueless chancer he is.

Doubt Wenger will be far behind.
Lambert must be close (despite recently signing a new 4 year contract) - scored 2 goals in 8 games now, and last night's one was due to a massive fuck up from the keeper gifting it to them.

I hope not. Deserves better than that but Liverpool have always been bigger than the man....look what happened to Dalglish!
Dalglish should have never been signed nor come back. That had the same hallmarks of Adshead at the Knights
Back to the thread...in this order;
Pearson, Irvine, Redknapp, Bruce, Lambert,Warnock. Pick one from six....
Please, please please Redknapp

Still no EPL managers sacked this season, not sure of the stats exactly but must be some sort of record
McCoist gone.
BR could be next.
The ever reliable rumour mill is saying that the only reason he still has a job after the Basel result is because ex-players involved in the club convinced FSG of a stay of execution. Since then, he's lost to Man Yoo, said there are issues between him and players and then said the exact opposite a few days later (after already being told to keep his trap shut by FSG).
If he goes (which I'm still onthe fence about) I hope Ayre follows him out the door along with the transfer committee as they have been created to fix BR's early mistakes but have since done a worse job.
2+2=17876 also applies with Rafa being touted to replace him as he was in Liverpool a few days ago. nothing to do with the fact it's close to Xmas and his wife and kids still live there.
Would you guys love that if Rafa came back?
I rate him as a manager and he seemed very well respected by your lot after he had gone
