I think it was 16mil. Played 39 games in 4 seasons, 5 of those have come in 3 seasons, I think the last two appearances combined would be less than 20minutes.

A shame, good player.

Guess we can't all make the consistently superb signings Liverpool has

Yeah, he was England's best player at the 2006 WC (not that that is saying much...)

What a joke. And to think we had the piss taken out of us when we paid about that for Mascherano...

Hindsight...

Masch wasn't even playing for West Ham for whatever reason, so I am sure that some may have sceptical but Hargreaves had about 6 or 7 good seasons with Bayern, a CL winner with Bayern (and Man Utd-took a penalty in the shootout) and a good World Cup in '06.

Of course, Bull, but how I mean is that we got Masch on loan from West Ham (reserves? lolz) and he was boss; straight away. Anyone who watched the games would have told you that. Only the Sky Twits mocked us. But ANYWAY. enough about that  should be hammering Valencia, although I'm pretty sure United will get that jammy late winner they always do...

Must have been the only one all game. He is the worst passer of a ball I've seen in a long time.
My name for him is 'give the ball away Carrick'

I thought LG might've been being sarcastic given his touch to lose the ball to the onrushing Valencia player, who in turn played in the bloke who scored.

Never mind, still top of the group!

Only six teams we could potentially meet in the round of 16:

Inter
Milan
Roma
Lyon
Marseilles
Copenhagen

Obviously Copenhagen look the easy beats, but I would relish a crack against Inter. Could to knock Rafa out (though he probably won't be the the job come February).

Milan have improved a lot on last year and are the most concerning for me. The French teams are intruiging.

Hard to judge in one game, but he looked OK, and I agree the goal was not his fault.
He is very young for a keeper so we won't know for a long time.

lol just kidding, well done, very good defending and nani a constant danger. Jammy goal but came about because of nani's attacking flair and park's cleverness. Typical fergie performance against arsenal, efficient as ever, i hate you all

Good defence and that was the only positive from either side.  A dull, mediocre advertisement for the Premier League coupled with the usual obligatory penalty for the boys when they're playing at home.

In regards to the hand ball, despite what the commentators insist on saying, hand balls aren't defined by "intent" or "hand to ball" etc etc. Its whether the arm is used to make the body "wider."

This is why you sometimes see defenders like John Terry defend with their hands behind their backs.

Thats what Jamie Cross told me a year back anyway

And in the case of the penalty, his hand stopped the ball from going past him. Intent is not in the question. Its a penalty.

Regardless of a missed penalty, over the 90m we were the better side. Twice the shots on goal, more possession and when we broke we looked dangerous. Could have been 3-1.
Tactics were better. 5 man midfield stopped Arsenal playing and a back 4 that for once were very good.
I'm sure that Arsenal supporters are gutted, but I thought they played some very good football in the second half but at the same time never really looked like scoring.
I still would not be game enough to pick the EPL winner.Too many games to go and still four odd teams in it.

can't wait for monday morning going to be a cracker of a game. Chelseas form recently means jack, they are going to be wounded and wanting to regather themselves and with the re-introduction of Lampard and playing at Stamford Bridge this a big test for us. If we win this game I'll eat my sock if we don't go on to win the title

The fact the game has been postponed could be a crucial moment in the season. Now was the best time to play them with us in good form and them in poor form with no confidence. Not sure when the game is being played (???) but what's the bet we end up having this fixture when they are on a good run of form and injury free!!

Sunderland had a few players out but Utd did enough to get 3 points.
Will be watching the Chelsea game in the morning. I'm hoping for a Chelsea win or a draw.

It was. Over the 90 min it was probably a fair result. We were played off the park in the 1st half.
A good goal in the 54m by Berb, but Birminghams scored in the last few mins.
I thought there was a foul on Rio a second before the goal. Obviously the ref saw it another way.
Still top with game in hand on some and two on others.

funny how most things i've read make light of manU's unbeaten record saying they've drawn too many and are not playing well, no way they'll go the season unbeaten blah blah blah

yet the funny thing is, when arsenal did it, we were exactly the same. I cant find the stats to back it up but at this stage of the season i dont even think we were leading from memory, despite being unbeaten. In the end we went on a run and ended with 26 wins and 12 draws, but bugger me im scared about manU equalling the record no matter how rubbish they can look - still not losing.

if you guys dont lose before we clash in april that'll be such a MASSIVE game
you guys have bitchslapped us in recent times but hopefully that monkey's not still clinging onto our backs after chelsea

I'm the same, Man.U going unbeaten would be awful. I was young at the time of that season, but I remember us being down at half-time to Portsmouth on the last day and freaking out.

Just with the last comment, only problem is that United are far better than Chelsea at the moment

Yes WBA should've had the penalty. But we should've had the blatant handball too, so they evened each other out.

I don't think their other penalty (the miss) was that bad - I think he was going to slot it to his right, saw the keeper dive and tried to readjust.

For me Anderson has again, had a poor game. He's just not consistent enough. Commentator was preaching death for Oberta, but while his finishing was sloppy at least he was making things happen. Fletch and Carrick are easily the best centre pairing.

Really hope Rooney's injury isn't major. He was definitely looking to find a bit of form in that game.

No they don't even each other out.  WBA penalty not awarded was earlier.  Give the penalty for that and there's absolutely no way everything will happen just as it did and you guys get the same penalty shout.  Sure, United could win 3 penalties after that for all we know but really anything after that is no more than pure speculation.

WBA easily the better side all match but some lollable finishing failed them.

Presumably you will apply the same logic to the penalty that Birmingham didn't get at 1-0, yeah right
