After this morning's performance I'd love to see Owen getting the chance to start up front this weekend ahead of Berbatov. Good to see Welbeck making a speedy comeback as well. I have to admit I was quite impressed with Diouf, especially when you take into account he was playing put of position.
I thought he played well in the USA during pre season. Versatile, played on the wings and up front. Good work rate. Nothing hugely flashy, but I wouldn't rate him far behind Macheda and Owen
well, "Kun" is just a nickname for Aguero which he has. So yeah, guess so.

I actually read about this and why aguero was allowed to have "kun aguero" on his shirt. One of the Premier League officials was quoted saying that as long as the name has been used previously in a different league that they would allow him to use it in the premier league.

So we should loan the next great star of the Premier League to the Phoenix, allow him to put this on his shirt, then the Premier League will let this be his name?

chuckle.

Yeah there are definitely rules and players have to apply for special dispensation. I remember this from when Christian Benitez had 'Chucho' on his shirt a couple of years ago for Brum, as I think it took a bit of convincing for the FA/PL to approve it.
There was controversy a few years ago when Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink wasn't allowed "Jimmy" on his shirt, when Jordi Cruyff was allowed to have "jordi". Premier League said it was because he had it that way at Barcelona and also Jordi regarded himself as Catalan and that was the Catalan way.

Classy media only telling one half of the story. By all accounts while 'Munich' may or may not have been mentioned by name, 'ice' and 'runways' were.

Disgraceful chants and banners though. I don't care who you support, if you sink to that level, you are a total and utter cu*t.

Tough game this weekend with de Gea sure to be given a good going over. Hernandez is unexpectedly fit for this one which is a boost. Owen on the bench over Berbatov for me. Jones is expected to fill in at RB with Smalling in doubt which means Evans will keep his spot in the middle unfortunately.

you still want owen to be ahead of berba after that? owen never looked dangerous at all last night and his movement was crap. berba linked up and probably needs to be a bit more selfish at times.

I wasn't saying Owen is a better player than Berba or vice verca. When I said that, I thought Chicharito was going to be out and I believe that Owen is more similair to him than Berbatov.

On another note, sh*t result this morning. Not only did we draw, but United was the only result I got wrong in my nine game multi at the TAB. Stings.

It was always going to be a hard place to go and get a win.We had the chances but did not take them. In the end a point is a point.Still top.

You're quite right - though one is forced to wonder why you would protest at your own use of the language!  Perhaps you've missed a dose of your medication?

edit:  Sorry, I should address the topic, too.  Stoke are a very difficult team to break down, and I think it's a creditable away point.  It's very sad to see Rooney injured after such an entertaining spell of form.  Neutrals (and I know we're rare around Man U ) are hoping for his swift return.

Mid week game at home to Basel. Will be interesting to see the team news. Perhaps at least one youngster (Pogba) on the bench?

Fabio is fit, but I think against Stoke Ferguson wanted some power and strength on the right hand side.

Wouldn't be surprised if Fabio plays tomorrow, either on the right hand side or instead of Paddy Evra.

Interesting who plays up top actually, think probably Berbatov and Welbeck will get the starts, but I expect either Macheda or Diouf on the bench and Ferguson might go for them before Owen.

I also expect Carrick will start. My pick:

De Gea
Valencia
Jones
Ferdinand
Evra/Fabio
Carrick
Fletcher
Park
Young
Berbatov
Welbeck

Hmmmm well that was interesting watching. Never really got into it full swing, scoring two goals in a minute really made us complacent and we paid the price.

Great fight back from Basel, not convinced by Ferdinand and Jones together at the back at all. I think even Evans/Jones would be better complemented to each other. I have full confidence they will bring it together in the end.

Not sure how that was a penalty. Thought Valencia did well actually.

Of course we fought back and stopped the most important thing, allowing Basel the three points in the group.

Next up the two games against the Romanian team. Six points there and we will probably be in second spot in the group going into the last two fixtures. No reason to panic yet.

Great work by Bayern as well.

Well I thought my half time/full time double on United was looking pretty safe at half time but there you go. Still can't say I'm a massive fan of Carrick.

Carrick hasn't been great in the EPL but I think he's done a job in the Champions League. Opta Data has his passing at 97% success (76/78), 40/41 forward, 23/23 backwards, and 13/14 square.

Interesting at least.

Funny how the minute Utd don't bolt in the Arsenal fans on on here.It is not often they are right, but for once they are. The back four look like they have been training under Arsene Wenger. It is not going to get any better when Vidic comes back as then the two central defenders will be far to slow. Rio F is probably one of the worst defenders in the EPL. He struts around bollocking everyone else when he is not even doing his own job. Just a ball watcher. Shouls not be in the England team.
The days of Swiss teams being easybeats are gone. Utd should have scored a lot more but I think they thought that they only had to turn up to get the points.
I'm not worried as they are still one of the best sides in England.

I'm not quite sure how you figure our defense sucks?? OK so I'll admit we had a bad day today but so does every team and this doesn't mean our "defense sucks". I'd challenge any Premier League team to score three goals at Old Trafford this year.

Smalling Jones Ferdinand Evra Vidic Rafael > Mertesacker Vermaelen > Evans > Djourou Sagna > You and I > Koscielny Squillaci
