It was quite the game huh. Watched it with a few friends and we were talking about the style of football that was played compared to what man u played last year. Correct me if I'm wrong (as I dont watch that many of your games) but does it seem that the game plan is entirely different without ronaldo? The amount of times the ball was squared out wide to someone directly on the line was crazy. It wasn't working but was continued for the entire game...?
And also the 3 man midfield..well you know it got dominated.. but was also thinking about the lack of quality balls through the centre of the midfiled and play miaking ability without you know who. Without giggs and scholes (who credit to their past influence, i dont think are that impressive and influencial) do you see the midfeild lacking the creative spark? And no... I'm still not talking about ronaldo, but a cesc/ deco/ ballack combination (phew, that would ba a nice combination). It just seemed that the final ball was lacking, and given the strike force the mancs have, some quality ball into them and there could have been a much bigger chance.
Anyway.. just a thought. Good luck for chelsea, your going to need it. We cant let them slip too far ahead now can we?

Some really interesting points, I will admit when I watch United the first time I'm not analysing too much, usually thats the replay. Having said that, I ain't gonna sit down and watch that 90 minutes again!
I did notice a distinct lack of quality in our passing into the final third, and I'm not sold on Rooney playing out wide right at all. I know for certain that Carrick can play lovely passes to the strikers, while Scholesy can spread the play out to the wings, but on the day Paul was poor and Carrick got injured.
For Villareal I might even put Wayne on the bench to start, and try CT and Dimi up top. Specially if Cristiano is back in the fold. That might be a bit extreme, but just give two of the strikers a chance to work together and see what happens. I'm sitting here barely awake so I'm not really sure what I'm saying in honesty
