There are two Premiership teams in there!

Does this mean Brown is ahead of Vidic for defence? I doubt it!!

Rooney and Tevez up front.....The Ugliest frontmen in the whole EPL, gonna scare the sh*t out of the opposition goal keeper.

Why would you think Brown was rated above Vidic? He has been No.6 since Blanc left.
Heinze has lost his No.4 to Hargreaves....for obvious reasons i supose.

Can anyone think ofany another United players that has had their number taken off them for a new arrival (or someone within the squad)? I know Robson has his No.7 taken off him after Cantona had been there for a year and he took No.12 and the only other one i can think of is Sheringham taking the No.10 off Beckham when he arrived....however moving to the famous No.7 isnt really a demotion now is it.

It's disappointing how it all ended up with Heinze. i always really liked his style of play. United are going to be really dangerous in the attacking third this year, but they also have a strong look to the defense, Hargreaves in midfield will make them really hard to break down. It might be biased but I think we have the best squad this season, we even have 3 classy keepers. Hopefully another premiership trophy heading United's way...

I hope he does have a change of heart and deicdes to stick it out.
if he does go to the kop it will  certainly make for a interesting matchup especially with Rooney and Ronaldo running at him..... Imagine if he found himself in the path of one Gary Neville!

also its a shame Foster is out until next year....may have had and interesting battle between the posts.

Well that wasn't the start we were looking for...John O'Shea ending up playing striker, Rooney with another fractured foot and a nil all draw.

Hopefully if Heinze does leave he goes over to Spain or Italy, it would be horrible seeing him in a Liverpool shirt. Yeah Eric I thought that Foster would have been our first choice keeper this season, he's going to be United's keeper for a long time to come I think.

That level of horror and ugliness is well beyond any Halloween mask I've seen

Its no longer a problem.

I had forgotten what it was like to be the current title holders. Im sure that there will be many teams that will play in the same style that Reading played and no doubt that is what Chelski found last season.

Can't wait for it to all unfold

Reports suggest that Tevez will make his debut against Pompy rather than against City on the weekend.

who cares about united numbers, city (the citizens) is the team of manchester people watch out the sleeping giant is awaking!

Make a city thread then.

Looking foward to the game this weekend, watch out Tevez is coming....maybe be pared upfront with the one and only John O'Shea...isnt that daunting....actually he looked pretty good in his time on the park....why wasnt Scholes upfront?

very poetic, great sleeping metaphor - i've always wondered what Sven's problem was

With Rooney out, Furgie said Tevez is gonna start on Wednesday's game against Pompy which is earlier than he wanted to.

Last time that happened was 99....Oh wait we won the trebble that year.....all is still well then!

Yeah but with Ronaldo due to serve out a suspension and Rooney out for 2 months you're ripe for the picking at the moment.

yeah but unless Kuyt was stood on a box you'd never get them in the same photo

I don't know why United sold Giuseppe Rossi...I thought he was supposed to be a bit of an up and coming star. He seemed to be pretty good in the games I saw him play for United. United always seem to have a great depth in Midfield, and this year Defence and Keepers as well...but we haven't had real depth up front for ages. Maybe the Chinese chap coming through will be good...

with the depth they do have upfront it seems a waste of talent. Considering they have got Rooney, Tevez, Saha, Giggs and Ole, he would be 5th or 6th in ranks.....given an injury crisis he could have been valuable though.

Yeah but when you consider the amount of time Saha and Ole spend injured and even Rooney...and the fact that Ole and Giggs are coming to the ends of their careers, I would have thought it would be useful to at least have him around for another year or 2 at least. Especially considering the amount of time and money they invested in him. I wonder if Gerard Pique will be sold off in the same way...

Enjoy it while it lasts mate...Mind you it is good to see City performing well so far this season...they play some good football at times, they were just never good enough to string the results together, maybe that will change this year...

Man U looks in trouble, No Saha, Rooney and now Ronaldo out....any team coming up against them right now would be pretty optomistic about their chances of coming away with a point or even more against them.....Still though, Man U..Hate to say it..But they got alot of experience and talent in their lineup to still prove deadly against any team even though they are missing a few key players.

good luck on sunday/monday Madhouse (must say it is very sporting of the Reds on this thread to let you come and play with them )

Maybe it is a sign that the common bond of Phoenixhood is the main football buzz for us all here in NZ. Hell, I was even civil to the Argyle lad after he gave us a bit of gip when the mighty Tigers somehow didn't quite win v them last Satdy.

Friend just called to say that he spotted car this morning, bridge onto SH2 at Petone, with Man U number plate. Pulled alongside, caught other driver's attention, wound window down, other guy does same. Friend shouts over about how good City are, expecting some banter, and instead got a pile of abuse!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Latest News: United to make bids for Obi Martins and Analka. Martins has a buy out clause of 13 million pounds & Bolton are wanting 15 million.

Martins was reported last week as saying he was nearly ready to sign a 6 year deal without a buy-out clause but now looks like the most promising target. SAF is not confident that Saha will not continue to hurt himself - he is due back in a fortnight.

Obviously it will be one or the other not both OM and NA.

Bet it livened up the journey to work!

Yep, banter can be in short supply after a loss, must say your mate sounds like an adrenaline junky - wonder if he'll have another go after the return match?
