AIG were not the largest offer for the shirt sponsor at the time, Mansion (sponsors of spurs now) offered supposedly 70mill compared to AIG 56.5mill. Man Utd didnt want to be associated with gambling is what i think was the reason for not taking up the offer. Funny now that AIG has gambled a lot and lost
