what people are forgetting is that its been this way since the glazers took over in 05 and is the reason why so many people were against it in the first place.

its also why fc united of manchester was formed...

the only reason its being spoken of now is because many other top flight clubs are being bled dry, and its juicy gossip. the papers are having a field day with it

Well, it is getting more attention as previous seasons we had still been able to spend money on improving the squad; Berbatov a couple of seasons ago as an example. This season, really last 18 months, has seen us sell Ronaldo, not take up the option for Tevez, even cancel planned transfers such as Adem Ljajic (Belgrade saying that Man Utd pulled out due to cost involved, while Man Utd were saying he wasn't good enough or work permit issues, both arguments dont make sense as Tosic joined Man Utd supposedly as part of the deal for Ljajic and got a permit and Fiorentina has just signed Ljajic to a 5 year contract, so he must be decent, if the money was flowing SAF would have taken the gamble on the potential of an 18 year old). The credit crisis would have surely had a large affect on the Glazers and Man Utd considering the size of their debts.
