The thing is - how much would he be strained in the league campaign. Man Utd has to battle for the title in the EPL and in UEFA Champions LEague, and it may affect his form and health for WC. What he needs now is a proper rest to get back to his proper shape - and no chance for that in the situation Man Utd is now.
 
No there's not. It's going to be a case of management, the problem is that there is no end to it really, with the World Cup being where he would usually have the summer off. By that stage, it might be a serious issue.
 
He's such a key player, especially without Owen we would only have Berba up front, with a returning from injury Macheda.
