Well as I sit here at work, not really being able to concentrate due to a lack of sleep last night, I think back to the highs and lows of the season.

Highs:

1. League double over City
2. Dismantling Milan at the San Siro
3. League Cup run where we beat City over two legs in the semis
4. Wayne Rooney
5. A near perfect performance at the Emirates for the second year running.

Lows:

That week:
1. Losing to Chelsea at home (didn't deserve to win but an offside goal is always a kick in the teeth)
2. Knocked out by Munich in the ECL
3. The away 0-0 with Blackburn, which was totally inept after the week's earlier results
Also:
4. Losing at Stamford Bridge (not that we tend to win there, but we played really well and I felt that was one we we wasted a great chance.)
5. Knocked out by Leeds in the FA Cup 3rd Round

I would say the loss at Anfield but that came just hours afer we hit the Gold Coast for 6, and nothing was going to bring be down from that.

I think over the summer a couple of Foster, Carrick, Park and Berbatov may be sold, while guys like Welbeck and Fabio are loaned out. David Silva does seem keen to sign but SAF may go after one top English player, like he seems to do after each major tournament England make (Rio in 02, Rooney in 04 and Hargreaves in 06 though Bayern didn't sell till 07). It might be Milner, if we can convince Villa to sell. Rodwell is another potential target.

We also need a forward. I expect if Berba leaves then someone like Benzema or Dzeko will come in, so Rooney and this player will have Hernandez, Owen and Macheda as back up.

Goalkeeper will come in - maybe Neuer, Akinfeev, Lloris, Buffon. I don't know what SAF is thinking there, he tried the young up and comer with Foster and it didn't work, he may just open the wallet a little more and get an experienced guy.

All in all, not a bad season, no teams won 4 titles in a row so we were always up against it, and we will bounce back next season
