Yeah I don't think Smalling did too bad at right back... interesting that in the past (even last year) we had a lot of wing backs - Neville, Brown, O'Shea, Evra, Rafael, Fabio, yet this year we only have the three out and out wing backs. Clearly Ferguson sees Evans as a potential left back (played there late last season) and Smalling and Jones as potential right backs.
 
At some point we could end up with a Stoke-like back four of Smalling-Jones-Vidic-Evans or something similar!
