 Any manager, of any level of experience, will have a tough time in that job and realistically I would be surprised if anyone hangs around for more than 2-3 years. SAF is likely to still have a role at the club but will be aware of the need to distance himself. Decision may be to seek someone who is a safe pair of hands type - Moyes would fit that bill. Task then may be to act as a bridge between Ferguson and the next era. A massive name (ie, non British) coach will want to re-shape things.

There's also every chance that this rumour is exactly that.
