Had another look at the game this afternoon. Although we had a lot less possession than Arsenal ( and of course I knew the result) they just did not seem to have the cutting edge. Welbeck ( and I really like him as a bloke) is going to be on the bench a lot as he just does not have the football brains. He skinned Carrick from the left and all he had to do was square the ball and it was in-- he tried a shot from an almost impossible angle. Wilshere was lucky to stay on the field. He is a head banger but a great player.A really shocking decision from the linesman re the Rooney offside. That was game over.

What I really was interested in was how did Arsenal react to being 1-0 down. Well they lost their shape and players did their own things. Mertesacker was to blame for Rooneys goal. He was camped 20 metres in the Utd half. The important thing is to keep the shape and not panic..

Blackett gave the ball away more than the rest of the team combined. Hope he does not get another game.

I also hope that the Utd fans don't boo Welbeck, although I am confident they will not. In the return game with all our player fit we should get at least 3/4 goals.

Dortmund will be a tester midweek for Arsenal and it will be interesting to see if Wenger can lift his players.

Having a lot of possession means nothing as a lot of than could be in your own half.
