It's just a hilariously bad clearance. Young must have thought it was his birthday.
It was pretty unlucky. He could not pick it up, was under pressure from Rooney and he just swung a leg at it. It could have gone into touch if he had struck it right, but that is the way it goes sometimes. It was the only thing Young did right all evening.
