He chose to come back, he knew who he would be playing with. By all accounts his issues are with Mou, not the club. There's no evidence to suggest he'd want out if Mou left, especially as we have no clue who'd come in. He's a fantastic player with a ton of room to grow that's currently playing for a team that was the 2nd best team in England last year. He'll be fine with the right manager. United would be mad to let him leave. He definitely needs an attitude adjustment though, on and off the pitch. Mourinho isn't the right manager to achieve that (or our other goals).
