I was just watching The United Way again , and some things popped into my head....most of which are not directly related to the film.
Roy Keane has been near-on erased from Club history, because of his bust up with Fergie. This is so sad.
For Keane, R., also see Ince, P. Incey, at his best, is possibly the best midfielder I've ever seen. A force of nature. Again, his contributions have been downplayed.
Why isnt the 2008 team venerated like the 99 side? The 2008 team is the superior team....you listen to the 99 team on the United podcast, they say they'd lose to the '08 team. They would have won the Treble as well, had Fergie not shat the bed vs Pompey.
Speaking of not enough kudos; Oh Teddy, Teddy. His efforts actually won the 99 final. Scored the first, and won the header for Ole to prod home a relatively easy chance. Not many people talk about Teddy though.
The FA Cup win vs Liverpool in the fifth round was the most dramatic game of 1998/99, and that's saying something!
That season Eric came back (was that 94/95 or 95/96?), how good was he? I remember him being on a one man crusade. And Schmeichel stopping Asprilla and Wor Les time and time again.
Mark Robins - given a fair go, or not?
And is it Rang-nick or Ran-nyick?
