Hopeful hoof.

which you could say for almost any long range goal. either way it was a good goal, helped a lot by the keeper
30 Oct 23:57 · edited 09 Sep 05:17
haha well he took a punt at it yeah, can't deny he hit it incredibly well.
hopeful hoof doesnt exactly say a lot, you'd rather every team tried to walk the ball into the net the way arsenal does?

agree with the problems with spurs though.
gomes looks very shaky, at the same time he's a wonderful shot stopper, he just needs more authority in the box. coming from the dutch league i guess he isnt really used to the crossing game.
harsh on hutton, he had a bad game yeah but he looked impressive latter half of last season so i think its too early to write him off. gunter looked the goods when he came on though.
modric really needs a creative striker to run off him to be fully effective, could see him getting really frustrated with the limited inventiveness of pav and bent yesterday.
all in all, sure we need a new holding midfielder, we're still too weak there. and another striker and CB probably. would like to see corluka play in midfield, he looks good on the ball

How embarrasing.

Spurs - Official Apology from West London

Sorry and thanks guys.  I take back everything I've said this season!
01 Nov 22:26 · edited 09 Sep 05:17
Can't believe it, what a come back. In those conditions it would have easy to drap their heads etc but the changes at halftime won the game. Can't believe Lennon didn't come on earlier but he had a massive impact midway through the second half. Was it just me or did the commentator seem to hate Huddlestone, he never missed a chance to comment on his mistakes.

A week is a long time in sport. Arsenal losing to Stoke as well, what a corker...!

Clearly we're not out of the woods yet, but to put one over the arse followed by Keane is quality.

LG, you must remind me to lift my chin(s) for photo opps ,no matter how delerious I am. Sad that you couldn't capture the gooner on the other side of the bar in the same shot, though!

Harry's Hotspur sinks Reds

Tottenham celebrate Jamie Carragher's own goal
Liverpool surrendered their unbeaten record as Harry Redknapp continued his miracle working at Tottenham Hotspur. When Dirk Kuyt scored in the 3rd minute it seemed the Reds were making serene progress. Jamie Carragher could only head into his own net in the 69th minute and then, with the game in injury-time, sub Roman Pavlyuchenko stole on to a Zokora pass to score the winner.

Not quite the same impact as the ESPN website, but cheers HN, nevertheless!HarryHotspur2008-11-02 20:16:07

It was truly beautiful...and to top it off the Gooners lost to Rory Delap FC...

Brilliant...what a day, now for the Nix to win to really top it off...

Bent has found his pre-season form, what a glorius result for Harry, The gooners have been awfully quiet in recent weeks-funny that!

dude, your still 20th. don't get too smug there yet.

We're not bottom anymore!

Fantastic result for us, of the past 3 league games I thought we would be lucky to get 1 point against City and it turns out we have got 7. Also we have now played 3 of the big four and have got 5 points from those games.

Great stuff Harry, now we need to beat Liverpool in the cup and then Fulham in the league away to keep up this amazing run. January looks like a good run of fixtures for us at this stage so if we can make it until then, hopefully Harry will have some money to spend and we could see spurs rising up the table where they belong.

Officially the best team in English history. No one has ever taken the full 7 points vs Man City!

Given the context, I expect manager of the month to becoming Harry's way!

I'm quite ambivalent about the Liverpool game - still in shock over our mugging of them a couple of games back.

Looking at how compressed to league is up to 7th/8th I am looking forward to a rapid rise up the ladder (welcome back spurs expectations!!).

Sounds like Bent was hauled down to prevent a 1-on-1 for his hatrick which is a shame, as to back up with another one would have been nice. Still, he's firing with Mondric sounding classy behind him.

Nix, Eng U17s and Spurs all in a weekend....yay!

That's why I said of the past 3 games we would be lucky to get a point off City( Considering our other 2 were against L'arse and pool)

I take it you were being sarcastic however,

congrats on your win over the Mancs and thanks for the 4 goals at Emirates, it's really turned our season around.

I have tickets to the Carling Cup game at WHL tomorrow night. Should be a cracker!

Modric is looking 10x better now. finally demonstrating the class that he was originlal bought for.

Closest I could get to green with envy..saying that the more I stay away from WHL the better their chances of winning in my experience.

Waaah! I just got home from the game. Sat right next to the Liverpool fans (SW corner, block 9 for those that know the ground). They shut up good once we were up by three.

Spurs looking dominant except for Gomes, still far too dodgy to be in the EPL! Although his replacement Cesar Sanchez didn't exactly inspire either.

Good win all round, Campbell on song. Midfield very strong and such pace when the lads were tracking back.

Topped it off with a nice ride home on the trusty northern line!

Love it.

will any goal keeper do well at spurs? just seems like a curse there.
13 Nov 03:58 · edited 09 Sep 05:17
Really? Misplaced call imo, as GK has been pretty stable over the years.

The Achilles' heel has traditionally been fullback(s) and box to box ball winner.HarryHotspur2008-11-13 16:59:53

Harry will look to bring in a keeper in the Jan window. Given from Newcastle is the loudest rumour i've heard...he'd be good...i'd be happy with that
