First half also cut short as a free kick was being launched into the box.
Viewing the Premier League (live) 16/17...
Got to love Sky's logic- that we should be thrilled there are adverts in their coverage.
No, Sky is one continuous advert on the various channels with the occassional Program break
random advertisements just before the end of the first half and second half also happened in some of the live south american world cup qualifiers that were on BeIN, so I ended up watching them on ESPN - odd that they were live on both channels
"rogue trigger"?
"rogue trigger"?
yeah so those are as I understand it called cue tones. beIN 2 is a ad insertion channel - which means the content is created outside of SKY and we just receive a feed - but when ads are played we are required to insert our own ads over the top so ads that are not relevant to our market are not shown.
This is normally achieved by the use of cue tones - when beIN need SKY to play out ads over the top of their broadcast they send a tone through the broadcast that triggers an action in our system which starts the ad playout.
It looks like the tones are being sent at some interesting times not only in this game but as mentioned above in some other games as well. Hopefully now that beIN are aware of it we can get it resolved.
That makes sense.
I actually always wondered exactly how they achieved that with the advertising.
Bein need a slap for that, really poor.

They're doing a pretty piss poor job at this, you see numerous ads for Aussie bookmakers etc on the Bein channels.

Maybe that's what the cue tones were changed and have now caused different problems. Don't know can't speak to that.
From memory it's mainly Bein2 that has the Aussie ads, rather than the main PL-only channel.
Occasionally get the 'cue tones' issue when watching Sportsnight on Sky News as well, mainly during the opening segment.

Pretty sure beIN one is a fully built channel with no ad insertion from SKY so this issue should be limited to beIN 2
Dortmund V Bayern advertised for 6:15am on Bein 2 before the Madrid derby. Presumably a one-off or will we see more Bundesliga games on Bein in future?
i think that's an error
Must be, the blurb says Bein brings you coverage of every round of the Bundesliga, which it doesn't of course.
Just checked and it looks like Duke are showing it, though. Didn't think they would be as they already had Leverkusen-Leipzig and they normally only have one live game per weekend.
Well, Bein are officially showing a Bundesliga match now.
Looks like the exact same feed as the one being shown on Duke, Derick Rae commentating on both.
Are TVNZ supposed to have exclusive Bundesliga rights?
perhaps they agreed to play nicely.
Shhhh, the more leagues the better. Wouldn't mind the SPL and the Dutch League too!
Bit of Milan derby would do nicely, save me from forking out bandiwdth for an, ahem, perfectly legitimate stream.
Yep, add the Italian League too.
Any word on the on demand functionality? All seems quiet on the SOMO front.
fullmatchesandshows remains the best ondemand option. There is a kodi plugin in github which also removes adverts
Arsenal vs Soton this morning is on Bein 2.
You can access all other sky sport channels online in some way now, except for this one channel.
Just when you think things are getting better.
The height of frustration.

So their online offering is only for Bein 1?!
Yep.
Rubbish aye.
So the beIN free trial has ended yet I can't see any way of accessing it as part of my Sky beIN package. Any idea how this works or nothing yet?
It is quite tragic that we've moved from a state where we had an excellent on-demand service, available on all devices, to a situation where paying pirates is the best option to watch :/
I do find their website a bit hard to navigate. Trying to watch the Arsenal v West Ham game Sunday morning you could only log in when you clicked through to the subscription packages.
I dispute it was available on all devices since, as I posted previously, in 3 seasons it never became available for my Smart TV, games console, smartphone or tablet and my only option was laptop. Also probably don't agree that paying pirates is the best option when it's legally available in HD on TV. But certainly the online offering is worse. Ludicrous not to provide an on demand option for something that mostly takes place in the middle of the night. It also appears to have been a lie that subscribers to the Sky offering would get free access to it. Perhaps Sky were misled.

When you can pay pirates similar money to bein, for most european and american sports channels in HD, with catchup, then yes, its the best option.
It shouldn't be the best option, but there you go, it is.
Can't agree that paying pirates for an illegal service is the best option when the content is legally available here. Don't doubt it's cheaper but presumably access could be shut down at any moment.
My read is with sky or bein direct, there is no way to do on demand viewing (Skyplus) is only 'on demand' if you're in your living room.

um...
Annoying that Spurs-CSKA is being shown in full five times yet Lyon-Sevilla only gets the 'mini match' highlights package treatment.
Here's the stock-standard response to my question regarding:
1) Why there is no sky login (I already pay for sky)
2) Do they expect me to pay for both
3) I want on-demand
4) Why we only get one channel on Connect
Thanks for contacting beIN SPORTS.
Subscribers to the beIN SPORTS tier on SKY will be eligible to access beIN SPORTS CONNECT at a future date at no extra cost using their SKY login details.
beIN SPORTS is working to provide access for SKY beIN SPORTS tier subscribers although we are unable to give any indication of timing at this point.
Please continue to visit our website and follow us on social media for the latest updates, including pricing and content information.
Should you need further assistance, please let us know.
Git the same reply a month ago. Must be a stock standard.

Until there is an on demand option, I'll definitely stick to listening to the Everton games live on the radio (so only my ears can bleed rather than my eyes) and fullmatchesandshows for other games.
Happy to pay once Bein get on demand online.
Weird there's no third pop-up showing Swansea-Sunderland.
