Yes, CL final at 6.45am and Championship playoff time yet to be decided (I think)

Edit: Ninja'd by El Grap. Serves me right for trying to find the time of the playoff for 10 minutes.

Usually an afternoon kick-off, might be something like 3pm UK time (which would make it 2am here).

In a massive coup for the Breakfast of Champions, on the back of West Ham United's promotion to the Premier League, we have secured an interview with the great Sir Trevor Brooking. One of the Hammers' most celebrated figures (Upton Park's famous Centenary Stand was renamed The Trevor Brooking Stand in 2009) the majestic midfielder amassed 639 games for the club, scoring 102 times between 1967 and 1984.

Impressive first half by Carroll, he is very much a Big Sam player. Could be a very good pick up for the Hammers this season.

Having finally nailed down Carroll, I hope the next signing isnt as drawn out. Hopefully we can pick up someone like Jordan Rhodes to go alongside the big man. It is amazing really how fixated BFS has been with Andy Carroll's signing.

Plenty going on in other areas of the club with the Stadium, New Shirt sponsor, New Kit, picking up a youngster with potential and releasing others. Hopefully the big signing will be quickly followed by others who were waiting to see whether we got him.

Take a second to vote for which EPL team you want Sommet Sports to buy the internet channel rights to so they can broadcast a complete EPL game and other footage every week. (they already have the rights to Chelsea TV)

Sommet Sports are the new sports channel on Freeview in NZ and start broadcasts in a few weeks.

They are broadcasting already temporarily on ch. 114 as a test (though not this weekend due to technical problems - will resume in a few days) - have been broadcasting replays of last seasons' Capital Cup, Europa Lge etc. the last month.

(to find the test channel's transmissions, punch "114" on your remote - or do a re-scan of your UHF box first if necessary)

They will be broadcasting regularly on ch 14 in a few weeks.

VOTE HERE FOR WHICH EPL TEAM'S CHANNEL YOU WANT THEM TO BUY THE RIGHTS TO (scroll down):

https://www.facebook.com/SommetSports

What English Premier League Team TV channel would you like us to buy? (we have Chelsea and we are only allowed one more)

Note: My personal preference is for Sommet Sports to buy West Ham's channel, so we can see Winston Reid every week free to air.

Otherwise I'm neutral (I come from a family of Charlton Athletic supporters on my mum's side)

But might be good to have a team from outside London (Sommet Sports already have the rights to broadcast Chelsea TV)

Also note that Sommet have been receiving mainly only votes from Liverpool supporters since somebody posted the above voting link on the  official NZ supporters website for Liverpool FC.

The more people who register interest on Sommet's Facebook page the better anyway - just to indicate interest from football fans

Not sure where those kind of figures came from. He is off contract and has been released by Sunderland. Mind you, he was also heavily fined for not turning up to a weight training, and said that he thought Di Canio had an ego problem. Hard to believe that,  isn't it.

And he will only be coming to keep the bench warm,.unless they have had an offer they couldn't refuse for Tomkins

Lol. Do you actually know why he did it? Or are you just spouting a whole lot of nonsense?

because he is a cunt of a manager?

Stating the obvious.

Thing is he got it spot on this time. Two huge matches coming up for West Ham, one being a cup semi. As if a 3rd round cup match is as important. Face it, the FA Cup is shit now anyway. No one really gives a fuck.

But yeah, he should have put out his absolute best eleven then rolled over for the next two matches.

his priority is the league (let's be honest, the league cup was fucked as soon as we got Man City over 2 legs).  So far, being focused on the league has seen us in 2nd bottom, with one win in about the last 9 games (not sure of the facts, but it is pretty fucking terrible).

Getting fucked 5-0 in the cup by lower league opposition is not acceptable, I don't give a fuck what your priorities are.

And why the fuck does not getting humiliated in the cup mean that we have to roll over in our next 2 games?

Right, so tonight we have one of the games that BFS has prioritised, and I would be very surprised if we are within 1 goal at the end of 90 minutes.  If we lose something like 3-0 tonight, I cannot see how the board cannot sack him.

3-0 at half time (and we were lucky to get nil). I hope there is someone at Chadwell Heath putting all the items on his desk (half eaten Cornish Pasty, empty bottle of Bells, a Bolton programme from 2001 for scouting) into a box at this very moment

With you there Frankie Mac son - The 6-0 first leg Capital One spanking proved it was a waste of time resting his first-choice players in the FA Cup game.

They never had a chance against Man City anyway in a two-legged semi. In my opinion should have fielded  a stronger side in the FA Cup tie v Forest, a game they actually had a  chance of winning. I know they had injury  and suspension problems but still shouldn't have thrown the game like that...

I agree with Sky Sports UK on this one: "Allardyce ...handed out a total of five debuts, three from the start and two more off the bench, among nine changes to his team. It was a gamble that backfired horribly as the relegation-battling Hammers simply had their confidence further assaulted by lower-league opposition."

Premier League sides manage to play Champions League/ Europa League games midweek without fielding pathetically weak sides in EPL games either side of them...

This BBC opinion piece is fun: http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25663392

"It is not stretching the point to record that 6-0 was ultimately a hugely flattering scoreline for West Ham. It was cruelly suggested by one observer that City could have removed all their players during the half-time interval and still won with something to spare.

The only serious moment of concern for City manager Manuel Pellegrini and his players came when West Ham appealed in vain for a corner in the second half.

If it was not for the fine performance of goalkeeper Adrian, whose efforts were rightly acknowledged by West Ham fans when he went to them at the final whistle, double figures would have easily achieved by a magnificent Manchester City side.

...He may, as per their open letter, be able to count on the support of his immediate superiors but the voices of a passionate support will also carry weight at West Ham - and Allardyce would have struggled to find any backing after his second complete embarrassment inside a week."

Oh dear god.....

While West Ham, it is understood, would pay him (Lescott) £90,000 a week until the close of the season, they have also offered him £70k a week if they do drop into the Championship, in what amounts to a three-and-a-half-year deal.

He is a decent centre back (better than any of our current 3) but giving him a contract until he is 34 years old paying £70k per week (if we are in the Championship) or £90k per week (if we are in the premier league) is bonkers.  Like, sending a picture of your flacid willy to a girl level bonkers.

BREAKING NEWS - WINSTON BACK VS. CHELSEA IN TWO WEEKS:

(Will be great if he makes it back in that game as we can see it on Sommet Sports)

 http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/premier-league-news/38303-west-ham-news-reid-return-within-two-weeks.php#.UtST9PQW2So

"The 25-year-old New Zealander is looking good in training after stepping up his work following surgery on an ankle injury....

...Sources have told SportsDirect News exclusively that he is now within two weeks of his return as the club looks to claw its way out of relegation trouble.

With Andy Carroll back against Cardiff City at the weekend, Reid is likely to feature in the match against Chelsea on 29 January and Ricardo Vaz Te almost certain to be ready 12 weeks on from dislocating a shoulder, things are looking much better.

Our source said:  “It’s a massive relief to know that Winston is now nearly ready and will almost certainly feature against Chelsea and with Vaz on the way back there’s a big air of confidence after the win in Wales.”

More one for Man City fans to enjoy. Will be an achievement for the Hammers to lose by only three goals or so this time round....

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25723655

TEAM NEWS

West Ham have skipper Kevin Nolan and defender James Tomkins available after serving four and one-match suspensions respectively.

Andy Carroll and Ravel Morrison will play some part, while Ricardo Vaz Te could make a comeback.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is expected to rest a host of players given their 6-0 advantage from the first leg.

Stevan Jovetic and Jack Rodwell could be involved after long injury absences.

BBC MATCH FACTS:Head-to-head

  • Manchester City have lost none of their last eight meetings with West Ham in all competitions.
  • City's 6-0 victory in the first-leg was the joint-biggest win in League Cup semi-final history - West Ham were also on the end of the other six-goal defeat when they lost 6-0 to Oldham in 1990.
  • Manchester City met West Ham once in the League Cup back in 1984, beating the Hammers 2-1 in a replay at Upton Park after a goalless draw at Maine Road.
  • Both clubs were semi-finalists in 1964 and 2011, with West Ham losing to the eventual winners on both occasions.
  • Manchester City strikers Alvaro Negredo and Sergio Aguero have both scored 21 goals each this season in all competitions - one fewer than West Ham's squad have managed in total in the Premier League this season.
West Ham United
  • The Hammers have found the net in 34 of their last 35 League Cup games at Upton Park.
  • They have lost five of their last six League Cup semi-final ties and have not reached a final since 1980-81.
  • They have never won the League Cup, finishing runners-up in 1966 and 1981.
Manchester City
  • They have scored 16 goals in four League Cup ties this season, conceding just once
  • Edin Dzeko has scored six goals in four League Cup appearances this season.
  • They have won the tournament twice - in 1970 and 1976.

I am going to go with no.

I only watched bits and peices of the game last night (Fashion Police Golden Globes Special followed by Orange is the new black, if you are interested) but there was some commentary from Alan Smith when we were losing 3-0 with about 5 mins to go where he said that West Ham had achieved what they set out to do. What was that?  Lose 3-0 to a reserve side at home, infront of 11,000 people?

Tickets last night were priced between £42 and £60 for a game where we were 6-0 down, we have a manager no one wants but cannot get rid of because he will cost £4m to sack, no one wants to sign for us meaning we can only pick up player like Roger Fucking Johnson, we are possibly going to lose our only young creative player (Morrison*) for peanuts, the squad is full of dead wood on massive wages, and we must be odds-on favourites for relegation.  It is a fucking shambles.

* I actually said the following in another email this morning about Ravel....

To be honest, if we could get £6m for him, I think we should take it.  He is a decent player who is as prone to disappearing as he is to taking control of a game, and although there is a possibility he will get better as he matures, there is a bigger possibility that he will go all “blap blap, me is packin blud, you dissing ma kickers?” and shoot someone with a gun he is holding sideways.  On the training pitch.
