West Ham thread

The Grauniad podcast had a good chat about this topic. I can see why Dimitri Payet is pissed off that they didn't bring in enough quality in the previous transfer window. The club is partially at fault.

I hope he moves, since this would probably be best for all parties (hopefully to Milan).

I hope Westham stand firm on this.

How long does he have to run on his contract? I really hope it's 2 or more years so Westham can play the long game on this. If it's only a year or something then difficult to keep him when he'll go on a free eventually.

2021 apparently

He's 29, he's probably only got 1 or 2 more good seasons in him. Cashing in now could be a blessing in disguise.

apparently it is dealings with french clubs. We sold Payet to Marseille, and Newcastle have had a load of french players over the past 5 or so years.

Solid buy. 39 goals for Leverkusen over two seasons, shouldn't take too long to adjust to Premier League football either.

He's played over 100 games for Manchester United, I don't think adjusting to the EPL is a concern.

Adjusting to Andy Carroll might be.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say. His experience will no doubt stand him in good stead compared to guys who came into the league cold such as Zaza and Calleri.

I give Andy Carroll 3 games before yet another long term injury happens when he  gets out of his car at Tescoes.

Hoping to go to a West Ham home game around Christmas / New Year. any advice from people on buying tickets? I am a kiwi, never been to UK before.

you will need to become a member, which costs about £40 from memory. As you will not be using it again, it will not be worth it (you still have to pay for the ticket for the match on top). I have a membership you can borrow if you want - get in touch a little closer to the time and we can sort something out.

Some clubs have a ticket resale scheme, however stub hub is probably a good place to start.

Viagogo, they're good at scalping. Sell you a 40 pound ticket for 800.

You guys are having a monster off season! Hopefully Pelligrini can pull them together to play some good football, and I'm really hopefully Jack can find some form in there too.
