Will Sky not play any games then?
Screw the "four key matches from the four pools", I want to watch every single game!

Nah.  Pretty sure Sky have it all.

They are just letting their Prime channel carry some free to air.

Very pleased, as one of the seemingly dying non-Sky spieces, I'm rapt to have just discovered I don't have to travel half an hour to watch the games at 3am in the morning, or miss them all completely. Cheers Sky

Some interesting stuff from the TAB, but if this guy is their "football expert" they could be shelling out big time: Christiano Ronaldo's "final Chance" at a tournament? What, finished at 26? And of course England haven't beaten any team of "quality in the last 18 months",they've only played (and beaten)easybeats like Spain and Sweden...why do football fans have to put up with this mediocrity? To paraphrase Wayne's world: "I know it's a small tournament, but we can do better than that..."

More commentary on the English soap opera: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jun/06/sol-campbell-rio-ferdinand-england

"And if it is ever proven true that John Terry was chosen over Rio because of race then I would tell the FA that they can take back my 73 caps and scrub my name out of the record books. I would no longer want to be known as someone who played for England – that would be the end for me"

Wow - a positive outcome from this whole dodgy business!

Erm, no - they finished 25th out of 26.

Sweden went on to win ("Euphoria" sung by Loreen).

As in the case of someone's prediction of Italy winning this tournament, I will chew both my arms off if this happens.

Hey,

I'm from Germany and at the moment on holidays in NZ.

I will be in Wellington and Auckland during the uefa euro.

Do you think, there is something public, for example in a pub, where they show the matches of the uefa euro?

Four Kings is showing all the games live in Wellington, in Auckland you can try the Fox at the Viaduct.

Question for you betting sorts out there. Me and my brother played all the first round of games (bar Pool A) on the Playstation and for shits and giggs we thought it'd be fun to put a dollar for a multi at the TAB on the head to head results.  Then I noticed they've got these daily doubles, ie one bet on both games for the day.

What I'm wondering is it possible to include, for example, Netherlands to win head to head, germany to win head to head and the daily double in the same multi?

Cause if it is, that's a very easy way to turn a potential $100-ish payout, into a potential $15kish multi? Surely thats not what the TAB intended, but yeah.

Can't include a daily double in a multi. Computer says no.

Yeah but as with any major tournie, a team can go from looking good to looking average pretty quickly.

You can only have bets that are mutually exclusive in a multi, i.e. you can't pick Spain to win the Euro's and Spain to make the final of the Euro's in the same multi. Can only have bets that have no influence on the results of the other bets, if that makes sense.

That was quite unbelievable though, on a different day they could have scored 5 with the chances they had. Just one of those days I guess. Happy to see the Germans win (and also happy to see the Portuguese lose, this the third time in last 6 years they've lost to the Germans at a major tournament).

Absolutely huge game next up in this group between Germany and Netherlands, it's one of the biggest rivalries in European football and with the Dutch result from this morning it'll be all on. Absolute must-viewing.

Good win for Croatia: the Irish were outclassed and offered only huff and puff. The Croats will take a lot of confidence from this game and may be a match for the Italians especially. Thought Croatia were on the slide a couple of years ago, but they looked to have "regenerated" the team a bit. Jelavic very handy in the box.

Terry to score first, then take the field and say to Hatem Ben Arfa "I never said you were a snail-eating, garlic smelling, Frog of wog origins. That would be racist and I'm not."

That's a complicated question - he was in an offside position, but he did not commit an offside offence, so the goal was rightly allowed. He wasn't interfering with the play when the original shot came in, the ball then bounced off an Irish defender to another Irish defender, who controlled it with his thigh and then attempted to clear it, but shanked it very badly straight into Jelavic's path. The possession had changed hands by this stage and a new phase of play had begun, so Jelavic wasn't committing the offside offence by playing the ball and scoring.
