Heard it was just the King's Cup that went under the bus.  Good thing Ramos didn't drop the Copa del Rey!

Man I hate Barcelona... can't believe that red card, and how all 11 players surrounded the ref. What was Valdes doing up there? Really hope Madrid win this now just to spite those jerks

What are these two up to this morning?

Both trying to outdo each other in the 'who can be a bigger cunt' stakes

Worst El Clasico ever so far.

Three for me, and two for them.

If you ever needed to know why I dislike Barcelona, this pretty much tops it off. They're masters at "gamesmanship" - spend all week bitching about the ref and when it comes to game day, a little bit of acting and constant falling over and you're always going to get these calls.

Wouldn't write Madrid off though.

United and Real are hardly saints.

Three for me, and two for them.

I know but its a different theory...

Its like when the Italians kept falling over holding their face in the world cup because of Rory Fallon. Except Barcelona do it all the time for everything.

Edit: Interesting you chose the photo that was taken after United's genius little corner that was UNFAIRLY disallowed 20 legend2011-04-28 14:59:09

Hmm, maybe oppositions always get cards against them because they don't even try and play football against them as well? Pepe is just a thug, he doesn't offer anything else.

"It's always the same, they [Real Madrid] didn't want to play at football, at their own stadium. They play at the limit of violence. If you play with fire, you can end up burning.''- Pique.

Not trying to defend them entirely in this case, because this game was ridiculous, an embarassment for both teams.

And who could not enjoy watching the arrogant Madridistas suffer enormously?

The man who lead out Porto in Seville should not have any complaints whatsoever about refereeing.

I was going to say the exact same thing.

Edit: Both Crouch's tackles were yellows and I don't think Marcelo made them look worse as you insinuate (think Bertos-Cahill)

I can understand players from other teams appealing with the ref on big decisions, reds or pens(still don't like that), but barca players were going down very easily and most times the ref was being hounded.Bullion2011-04-28 17:23:03

True. As i said to EN earlier today they make it very hard for people to like them with their carry on. If it was just about the football they played, then yeah i think they would be worshipped as football gods. But there is far more to it both on and off the field (see CL semi 2nd leg vs Inter last season) that proves they are far from perfect.

Three for me, and two for them.

You have to admire Messi's 2nd goal though. Reminded me of Maradona's 2nd goal against England in '86 World Cup.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/912780/emmanuel-adebayor-claims-barcelona-are-'always-crying'?cc=3436

Whenever you make contact when going for a one-on-one or 50-50 ball they are on the floor crying, putting their hand up near their face. Their manager, fans and the players on the bench are always crying.
Its a real shame this drama didn't happen against another club, because as much as I dislike Adebayor its all true.20 legend2011-04-28 23:07:00

Try not to let your jealousy get the best of you, mate.

Seriously, though - it was a very poor game from both sides.  Let's move on and hope for a better show in the second leg.

Not saying that the likes of Busquets, Pedro and Dani Alves don't take playacting to a whole new level, but when the primary tactic of the majority of the teams they play against - including Real Madrid - is to kick the living daylights out of them, at some point overexaggeration will become a self-defence mechanism.

No, thugs like Nigel de Jong are a disgrace.  Barcelona's habit for simulation is a disappointment.

Perhaps you're bitter because they're still trying to lure poor Frank Smith away from his native London?

good luck in the final, and the best team gets there! Adebayor was acting like an utter tool the moment he came on. Simply fantastic to see Abidal playing again. How it took the ref 57 minutes to book Diarra, who knows, but overall he did well. Carvalho lucky to stay on the pitch. Pedro lost his head a bit at the end and was lucky not to get sent off, but fantastic goal. Pique is boss. Iniesta is a God. What a ball. Some sloppy stuff in there from Barca, but the job was mostly done in the first leg.

Well at least a free kick to Real.

Pique fouls Ronaldo, Ronaldo falls and accidentally just catches Mascherano (who makes the most of it) at the same time Higuain was putting the ball into the net. Ref gives a free kick to Barca.

Gotta agree, I think that would have been a goal nine times out of 10.

Thank you. Sick of all the Madridista moaning about it- it should not have been a goal. Fair enough to say you deserved a free kick there, but that should never have been a goal. What a fking joke. Hate them so much, good refereeing.

In football there are only two types of players. Players who win cups to drop them on the ground and players who drop on the ground to win cups.
