Best goal ever to win the European Cup?
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Tidy enough goal but I still plump for Rabah's. The commentary on this is "interesting"...

I'll show my bias and say Belletti for Barcelona in 2006... Extreme angle nut meg and his first ever goal for Barca, what a time to do it... I've never experienced a feeling quite like that from a goal ever... Especially since watching it here the place was full of Gooners fans who had been giving me sh*t from the time Campbell scored through to the time Eto'o equalised. Plus the celebrations from the players really emphasised the magnitude of the moment.

Yes Zidane's goal will always be held up as the best because it was extremely pretty and technically perfect, not to mention because it was a superstar scoring it will be replayed for years to come which it wouldn't be if some little known player had done the same thing. People do tend to ignore the fact he was COMPLETELY unmarked though.

I thought Inzaghi's second last season was a fantastic strikers goal, rounded the keeper and delivering a pinpoint finish too, however if just one Liverpool defender had bothered to chase they would have had a good chance of clearing it off the line.

I agree with the Zidane goal because of the confidence required to do that in such an important situation without thinking about it. That to me demonstrates a player who is a cut above, more than the actual execution, which many players could do on a percentage basis.

One goal that doesn't get the profile I feel it should was Kenny Dalglish's against Bruges in 1978. Found a clip at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDW4aH6eC0U

Bruges had set their stall out. They were going to defend and defend and defend. ...and they did. The goal came from clever work and a HUGE deal of patience.

yes being a Liverpool fan, I was downcast after that final, as any chance to see Manchester Utd not win a trophy is a good time for all! Lysergic_Bliss2007-11-29 23:06:02
