The toughest groups appear to be Liverpool's and ManU's?

Would say Group H but Zenit have been cr*p thus far this year, and with Arshavin likely to leave i don't rate them...

Of all the English clubs, Arsenal have the toughest group. About time too, they've had very good luck with the draw at this stage of the competition in the past. I'd say they're the English club in most danger of not progressing.

Liverpool's group looks tough on paper, but I think that Marseille and PSV aren't as good as their names sound, Atletico Madrid is very good, expect them to go through with Liverpool.

Man U and Villarreal are head and shoulders above the other two teams in their group, and Chelsea will breeze through their group, probably with Roma.

Group F might produce some interesting games, but we probably won't get to see them...

I think Rafa would be pleased with our group. We've played Marseille and PSV in the last 2 group stages and progressed and Rafa's knowledge of the Spanish game means we always seem to do well against Spanish teams.

I agree I think the arse have the hardest group. Away games in Turkey and the Ukraine are some of the toughest and hard to get a result from.

Arsenal have by far the toughest group going to Turkey and getting a result is a right mish and Ukraine could be bloody tough too.

Liverpool have a reasonably tough group too, how the hell Athletico can be justified as a pot 4 team i'll never know. Man Ure have a simple group as do Chelski.

On a side note, c'mon BATE Borisov!!!

Three for me, and two for them.

As for Atletico Madrid being in the 4th pot, they haven't been in the Champions League in about 10 years, so their UEFA points are quite low.
They weren't even seeded in the 3rd qualifying round, much to Schalke 04's misfortune...

From what I heard, Partizan were quite unlucky against Fener - led 2-0, had a goal disallowed which would have made it 3, and then Fener came back to 2-2 and won in Turkey.
Dinamo was awful against Shakhtar, never in it really.
Next season the qualifying system will change so we both should have a better chance of getting into the group stages.
It's just a shame that the teams we were killing 20 years ago are now knocking us out, sometimes even comfortably...

Panathinkos the only surprise, Porto to a lesser extent but the group stage played out almost as usual. Match Ups I'd like to see: Liverpool vs Real Madrid, Internazionale vs Man U, Barcelona vs. Chelsea

I just found out that next year, top 3 from England, Italy and Spain are into the group stage and the 4th team in 3rd round of qualifying. Rather than top 2 in group and 3-4 in 3rd qualifying. I thought Platini was all about more equality and lessening the power of the 'big' teams, maybe G14 had a say in this.

You do realise Platini did this to try and get more smaller teams into the Groups right?

Three for me, and two for them.

The qualifying system for thenext season is greatly changed, will ensure that at least 10 clubs from the smaller leagues are in the last 32.

Inter got what they deserved, showed no urgency in any of their 6 games really.

I feel a little sorry for Lyon, they just are not a lucky side.

Yeah Real Madrid vs Liverpool and Inter vs ManU are games which could be worthy of the final, disappointing that 2 of these teams will be leaving early, good for Chelsea though

Who knows...? Especially if Momo is fit...he'll tear up Chelski!

So excited for Real vs Liverpool. Torres will tear them up- he's gonna have a team around him and a huge grudge. Also Rafa back in Madrid- time to show them what they missed out on when they let him go! It's the first time we've played them competitvely since '81, and we all know what happened on that day!

Atletico vs Porto should be quite even too. El Kun should dance around a few of them Portuguese cheats to see Atleti through

Hard to make predictions when games are two months away, but if things don't change dramtically over that period, I'd say:

Chelsea - Juventus is about 50-50. Liverpool -> Real Madrid, who are awful at the back and can't seem to score a lot as well. And Atletico Madrid is a class above Porto.

I would say 60-40 in Chelseas favour, we won't lose to Juventus home or away, you will see.

Porto, Juventus, United and Barca are the teams I want to get through, not fussed about the others although I'd like to see Bayern knocked out
You know we belong together...

Yeah, Juve game will be close. Del Piero is really good and in top form at the moment, hopefully that continues til February and beyond! But, like you say, a long way to go and Real have the manager now and enough players to sort out their woes. Just hope Torres and Gerrard are fit for that game! Atleti need to tighten their defence though. As a unit, they are guilty of conceding loads of goals (see Barca).

Barca can put 6 past anyone.

Porto is a decent side, but really it's a pretty good draw for Atletico.

Yeah, especially given that they came second in the group- so could have drawn United and such.
