Draw is overnight Friday our time and it seems that the final eight teams have now been (all but) decided:

Arsenal
Barca
Bayern Munich
Bordeaux
CSKA Moscow
Inter
OL
Man U

Good mix of countries in there.

Most open CL in years. Great to see.

Three for me, and two for them.

Here is the make up of CL Quarter Finalist in recent years:

Makes for a very interesting Quarter Final draw. As long as we avoid Barca or United i thin we'll be ok, although there aren't any easy matches any more.

Three for me, and two for them.

Better than La Liga too.

Three for me, and two for them.

And the Russian top division is just as good as La Liga and Serie A.

Easily. Serie A is crap though so that isn't saying much.

Three for me, and two for them.

Of course. In fact, if it wasn't solely for Inter, it would be clearly inferior to the Russian top division.

Is there seeding for this??

I'm picking United Barca in the final again, providing they are on opposite sides of the draw. With Arsenal and Lyon to be 3 and 4.

No seeding.

come on Bordeaux! Gourcuff is absolute class. Brain says Barca though. Would love to see Messi vs Rooney. The greatest player in the world vs the ugliest.

That's a bit rough, Messi isn't that ugly...

In all seriousness (Messi is the best player in the world, by a long way), I would happily take most of those sides for United, obviously would prefer someone else to knock Barca out for us. It's great there are a wide range of countries to get, going to be an interesting end to the tournament.

Think United mightl end up against French opposition, would love to play our old foes Bayern Munich again though. That would be great.

I hate how they do the semi final draw at the same time as the quarters.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Jesus! Barca? Phew. Going to be one hell of a home and away game.

Looks to me like the mancs have a pretty do-able run to the final. C'mon Bayern!

C'MON ARSENAL!!

Yeah, why can't the semi final draw be random like the FA Cup?

The draw also ensures representation in the Semi Finals of a club from outside the Big 3 European leagues for the first time since 04/05.

Three for me, and two for them.

Wow. Bayern Munich had Barca last year and Man U this year in the QF's. Not alot of luck going their way.

Bordeaux and Lyon 1-1 at Lyon. Chamakh and Lisandro goal scorers.

Go Bordeaux !!

Some average defending in the Lyon v  Bordeaux game.
Makes for an entertaining game.

Looked a bit happy, Brasilian football to me. H. Loris at Lyon goal was great, some great saves, especialy the one after acrobatic shot from Chamakh.

Great to see Chamakh and Lloris going at it....both for Arsenal in the summer please.

Chamakh looks like such a whinger just like Ronaldo.  Even when not complaining he still looked sulky.  If we sign him I'll try to overlook that, but it could be difficult.

Did anyone else find the ball was often off the screen? I tried to change my sky tv setup but nothing helped.  It was infuriating!

i lol @ Arsenal

I thought it was off both sides but could be wrong. Def left.

I only have old skool telly so often have to change setup for wide-screen classics like EPL and Home and Away in order not to miss anything.  Nothing worked today.

It was like ESPN had taken wide-screen footage and simply broadcast the thinner version.

Argh! Bordeaux need one more goal to go through. 1-0 up but 2-3 on agg. 5 to play. Come on Bordeaux!

Gutted for them. Lyon win.

So semis are:

Lyon vs Bayern Munich

Inter vs Barcelona

Since Bordeaux couldn't do it, Lyon for the final! Keen as for a French team in the final.
