So some of you may remember that Cam (Photomac) ran a tipping competition using an Excel spreadsheet during the last World Cup. Cam doesn't have the time to this year for the Euros so I have taken his spreadsheet and am re-designing it for this.

If you are interested, email me at matt at yellowfever dot co dot nz

These are the rules:

- Entry is $5

Picking:

- The picking is done on Margin of victory, not goals scored
- For each match, choose what you think the result will be using the drop down list. Options are either team by 1 or 2+ goals, or a draw
- This is done for all matches
- You also pick who will top each group, who the overall winner will be, and 2 shots at Golden Boot (If Golden Boot is tied, and you get both correct, then you get points for both). These picks must be in before the Euros starts and cannot be changed
- To give me a chance to get everyones details updated before the matches there is a deadline for getting picks to me.They are split into rounds and advised on the spreadsheet that I am completing.
- Once you have worked out your picks, just save the spreadsheet and email it to me.I’ll take care of the points and will send out updates regularly

Points:
- Picking the Winning Team, but incorrect Margin is 3 points
- Picking the Winning Team and correct Margin is 5 points
- Correctly picking a Draw is 5 points
- Correctly picking who will top a group is 10 points
- Correctly picking the overall winner is 25 points
- Correctly picking Golden Boot is 25 points

Winning:
- The overall winner is the person who gets most points at the end of the tournament
- In the event of a tie, the total number of goals scored by the relevant peoples Golden Boots Selections (both combined) will be used as a tie break. The highest total wins. If its still a tie, I will split the pot.

Prizes:
- Winner takes all, if we get enough people may look at 2nd and 3rd option

- I’ll take cash or if you aren’t in Wellington, or are unlikely to see me, I will flick you my bank details in an email.

The Spreadsheet:
- All Kick-off times are NZ time
- I am just working on automating the tables from the results so you can use it to keep track of the tournament if you wish
- I will send out round 2 onwards once round 1 is finished

Round 2 has been kind to me getting 6 exact picks out of the 9 matches so far, 4 of them thanks to very late goals for France, England, Italy and the Czechs. Jumped from 5th to 1st.

Had a great second round. I'm sticking to battling Mel for last place.

Lost top spot with an average round of 16 but have picked the 2 draws in the quarter finals (though didn't pick Wales) so should still be there or therabouts.

Yeah you and Nick are fighting for top spot at the moment.

1 point in it, might come down to the winner of top scorer picks. I still have a chance with France for the winner and Giroud's double this morning gives him a chance of top scorer. Muller had turned out a poor 2nd pick though.

I've got Muller first and Greizmann second so you're ahead on the one. How does the scoring work for the scorers?

Here

Points:

- Picking the Winning Team and correct Margin is 5 points
- Correctly picking a Draw is 5 points
- Correctly picking who will top a group is 10 points
- Correctly picking the overall winner is 25 points
- Correctly picking Golden Boot is 25 points (so you had two chances at golden boot)

Any chance we can see everyone's picks for the winner and golden boot? Don't think there's much of a reason to still keep them secret since we can't change them now.

So I have France and Nick has Griezmann which cancel each other out if France wins (assuming Giroud doesn't score a hattrick in the final). Going to come down to the pick for the game. Might have to go for an aggressive pick I don't think is likely in order to give myself a chance rather than end up picking the same as Nick.

What I can't believe is that Nick & I had the exact same 3 picks Golden Boot & Winner...

Giroud or Ronaldo hattricks only way Griezmann doesn't get it now, Nani & Payet would both need more Assists as well...(Also a single assist from Greizmann would also prevent Ronaldo getting there without 4 goals)

Thanks for organising Matt. Came annoyingly close. Picking the draw for the final ensured I'd have won had France won in extra time.

No worries happy to do it even if I did get last. Yeah thought you were going to pick it as still thought France would win in extra time
