Yeah I'm in the same boat AJC - start work early too so it'll definitely be an option.

Tournament Schedule:

(automatically adjusts to your time zone)

http://www.livesoccertv.com/competitions/internati...

I'm tipping either France or Germany to win it.

England could actually make the semis.

Outside bets: Belgium, Spain

Italy will struggle after the group stage  - Belgium will top their group but Italy will qualify and lose in the last 16.

Agree that France and Germany are the top two favourites (and most bookies do, in fact), and also expect England to have a good tournament (so, semis). Not sure that Belgium would be an outside bet - they're currently the top ranked European team, and most bookies in Europe have them as 3rd favourites.

France in 2014 reminded me of Spain in 2006 - a really good side on the verge of becoming one of the best, if not the best, in the world. Spain went on to cash in over the next three big tournaments, remains to be seen if France can do even a third of that. But the last two times France hosted a major tournament - they won them both.

Its always a big guessing game and my initial thinking was that France will win it, so much outstanding talent.  I watched Italy beat Scotland 1-0 the other morning and whilst it was a poor Scotland side, a friendly and a low scoring game there was something about Italy's approach that makes me now think they can win it. They were far more direct in the way the played than usual and pushed forward very quickly. They were almost playing a long ball game except doing it once in the Scotland half which meant the gap between defence, midfield and strikers was short. That in turn meant they were defending in the Scotland half a lot.  Not sure how other teams will handle this approach. Anyway, will be an interesting one but I think they would be a good outside bet.

25 degrees, sunny, Euros just around the corner. Certainly feeling like summer in London.

Denying us who watches Sky Sport on Fanpass to watch the games.

Kick off times are 1am, 4am and 7am.

There are no other live events on at those times (at least not any to fill out the other channels).

Fanpass only gives you access to Sky Sport 1, 2, 3 and 4, not the Pop-Up channels.

Already emailed them and awaiting a reply.

At the end of the day...Sky Sport want to make money, right?

Would they get more people paying to access Fanpass if it gives access to live EURO 2016 football. The answer would be YES.

Pretty daft to put the games on the Pop-Up channels if you ask me.

Rant over!

Want to let Sky Tv know that you would like the Pop Up channels included in Fan Pass. Email support@fanpass.co.nz to give them your feedback

I'm positive things will go wrong.

In my flat we have Sky and it works out cheap as there's 4 of us, but there's no doubt that if I were you and they denied the option of Fanpass it seems like it's time to watch an illegal stream...

I prefer to watch a decent HD stream through Fanpass, especially as I've got fibre and no issues with lagging.

But you're right. It seems like the only option is for me to find an illegal stream.

I got a reply from Fanpass by the way (expected reply, not surprises):

Greetings,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Fan Pass will provide highlights of UEFA Euro 2016 as live games will be shown on the pop-up channel.

Unfortunately neither the pop-up sport channels nor ESPN channels are included as part of the SKY Sport package on FAN PASS. We’d love to offer more content and hope to make more options available in the future.op-up sport channels nor ESPN channels are included as part of the SKY Sport package on FAN PASS. Thank you for your feedback and comments. We will pass your comments along to the corresponding department.

If you have any questions or concerns in the future please let us know.

Best regards,

They're so full of shark with the "We hope to make more options available in the future" line. They can easily make it available on Sky Sports 1–4, but they simply choose not to. Absolute liars, as if it was not their decision to not allow these to be available to Fanpass. Especially at those times (1, 4 and 7 am).

My question is: Why are the Pop-Up channels not available? From a technical point of view, it would be easy peasy

It's not going to work against them, to make these channels available on Fanpass, is it?

It would instead increase the amount of people who would purchase Fanpass = more profit for Sky Sport.

I don't get it.

I am indeed :-) Yes, but we weren't good enough.

On a positive note, we've got a new coach. After 16 years with Morten Olsen, it was time for a new start. Hopefully the Norwegian Hareide can make an impact.

No I'm kiwi, but my girlfriend is Danish so I follow the national team a bit. She's from Jylland and her dad is massively into football and he too wanted Olsen to get the chop. He also HATES the teams from Copenhagen and thinks they are over represented in the national team haha.

If France are the favourites then they will have to improve to win this competition. They arguably have the two slowest full back out of all the teams. Still struggling to score and in Pogba have the most overrated player in Europe. I think Germany will go all the way.

I'm curious as to why you say Pogba is the most overrated player?

If anything stops France from winning the tournament it'll be their backline - far from assured today.

I'm not saying he is not a good player, but for all his hype he does not dominate the middle like he should. He seems to wander around the pitch without getting stuck in.

The fact that his club side wants $65 million pounds for him is a joke. There are far better players around for that money.

I also think the French back four is weak.

That French side did not looked liked the hype suggested, could be the first game pressure hiccup. Good Romania performance, they played nice and kept the game entertaining.

Good game and great goal from Payet. He was the best player on the pitch by a mile. Class above.

A nervous start from the French but they got the job done. Great to see Giroud keep banging them in and Payet was immense. In a country of 70m people, it's hard to believe Evra is the best LB though...nightmare.
