The Greek league may well have more quality and competetivenss than the Scottish league. Doubt that the other three can claim the same though.

you're right. I would put Scotland instead of Sweden, and then
Switzerland instrad of Austria, and bugger Greece!!

Think of the European competitions, and that might indicate which
leagues are strongest. Not sure Scotland, Austria, or
Switzerland have the same depth as Greece.

greece has no depth! except for a few in the youth teams
Ninis (PAO), Kone (AEK) and that turkish kid in the U21 team
(forgot his name, i think he plays for Larissa but not sure)
also otto never gives youth a chance, hes stuck with the same
team for years.OK some players are not picked because they sleep
around (eleftheropoulos f**ked the EPO presedents wife
hahahahaha)

Gkekas has blossomed in Germany though which is good, hopefuly
amanatidis and samaras will do the same
but I think any team from europe will struggle to beat
Olympiakos, PAO, AEK at home, sh*t even PAOK could beat most teams
at TOUMBA
in greece fans make victories, IT will be interesting PAO1908
to see next derby PAO AEK this year PAO's fans have been
woeful

PAO v AEK this coming weekend re Twigara! Another victory for the
mighty all-conquering PAO I feel.
Have to agree about how difficult it is to win in Greece. Be
interesting to see how Real Madrid go at Olympiakos this
week.
By the way, why do they spell 'Olympiakos' with a 'c' instead
of a 'k' these days....? Seems odd, given there's no 'c' in the
Greek alphabet.

its like Kosta is spelt Costa, its fu*ked up. I cant spell
olympiakos olympiacos it looks weird to me.
PAO-AEK Game is on ERTSAT btw, i think 0600 sunday morning not
100% though
last 3 years
Liverpool champions, 1-0 loss in GREECE
Barcelona champions, 0-0 draw to PAO in GREECE but it was the
first time barca was held in 30 odd games
last year AC MILAN champions, 1-0 loss to AEK in GREECE
catch my drift

uefa cup?

never CL dont know about the cup but probably never,
PAO has made the final once and the semis twice. i think last
time PAO made 1/4 finals was in 2002 CL. The main greek
representative in europe Olympiacos is not a good team, they buy
victories in greece and thus get the CL spot, PAO is greece's best
team
the greek league is filled with coruption and bad management
BUT has the best fans in europe by far

Greek teams may not have won any European titles, but their performances in Europe over the last decade or so have certainly been consistantly better than the performances of Scottish teams.

I don't know why some guys are rating the Scottish league so high
actually. No disrespect to the Scots, but I wouldn't put it that
high. Is it better than say the Czech or Belgian leagues....? How
about the Ukrainian league?

I'd say Celtic and Rangers are better than the top clubs in Czech Republic and Belgium, so on that basis Scottish league is probably better.
Ukraine is a different story - both Dynamo Kiev and Shakhtar Donetsk I'd put on a par with Celtic and Rangers, and Metalist, Dnipro and possibly Chornomorets (sp?) compare pretty well with other Scottish teams minus the big two.

Aberdeens season is an aberration given the recent history; most people here recognise that Celtic and Rangers are quality clubs, but two good clubs dont make a for a great league.

Good to see Celtic and Rangers doing very well in Europe each season though. Unfortunately, there are a number of countries that end up with a couple of 'super teams' while none of the others will ever have a hope of winning the league. Even in England, who has a realistic chance of winning the leagiue every year? Yep, one of only 4 clubs I'd say. I really don't like that.

I think the brazilian league would be just outside the top 5. The top 8-10 teams could compete with some of the best from Europe. Despite the fact they are constantly losing their players to those leagues. The "Brasileirao" is a fascininating competition that despite having big clubs like the english league does have significant competition among the top 20 teams, last year there were about 8 teams vying for the last 2 places into the Libertadores. Thanks to youtube and sopcast I am able to keep in touch with a league that caputres my attention and keeps it even now that I am so far away....
Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro and Wellington Phoenix, my two teams til death do us part.
