All I need is France to defeat Ukraine or Italy to defeat Scotland (assuming they put away Faroe Islands).

And I'll be in Europe when the comp is on.

Someone on another site came up with a brilliant idea if Scotland don't qualify:

A mini-Euro tournament with the rest of the the home nations...

surely England could win that or at least qualify for the group stages?

I'm desperately clinging on to the fact that Italy have never beaten us at home and we've already smacked the Frogs at home........

That sentiment was shared by Władysław Szpilman in his book "The Pianist" (also a movie).
 
Scotland have a 100% home record in their group.  A decent 1-0 (goal by Darren Fletcher) and you're through.
 
(Don't know about Partick nil, but get some more players from Hamilton Academical and Motherwell!)

Since when have Scotland made it easy for themselves - this can go down two routes.

1) Scotland to maintain their track record of glorious failure, be beating Italy until the 85th minute then lose two in the last 5!!

2) Scotland to buck the trend of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and miller and faddy to get two in the first half then a display of hereoesque Scottish grit and determination to hold on valiantly in defence whilst Italy try every trick (and dive) in the book to get a win. Scotland to qualify (please!!)

Might drop BigDunc a PM and see if he'll open the FeverLounge for the wee hours of Nov 18th for a Scotland v Italy Euro extravaganza!

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

Hey, great idea. I'll be down for the Sydney game on the 17th so I'd be up for my 1st visit to the Fever Lounge to watch the game.

sorry mate,
  after you lost to Georgia - that's it. Pity cause I like Scotland and would have preferred them to make it instead of bloody France..but..don't think you can beat us.
They will try, that's for sure.
 
Also, what a massive achievement by Liechtenstein as they won 3-0 against Iceland with one goal by 'Super Mario' Frick and two goals by Thomas Beckett, a young talent of Liechtenstenian football...awesome!!
Plus, San Marino nearly snatching a draw against Wales (1-2 the final score) and Kazakhstan loosing against Portugal with the same result.

What do you mean "that's it" because Scotland lost to Georgia????? They have shown the are capable of competing with Italy.
 
The September rankings put Scotland 14 in the world. For the World Cup qualifiers we are set to be a 2nd seed. Doing so well in a group containing 2 world cup finalists and a quarter finalists is sensational.
 
That group isn't the group of death just for this tournament - but of any qualifying group Ever.

I like to bet on those little teams from time to time, plus I've read a book about Liechtenstein football and I'm now an obsessed fan!

Honestly I really really really like Scotland and all the Scots, a lot more than the Poms, the problem here is that if Scotland make it to Euro 2008, then Italy won't. And I really need my National Team to qualify. We're champions of the World after all. If the French managed to win a World Cup and a Euro Championship in a row (God cursed that final with Trezeguet and Wiltord scoring twice in 5 minutes!!!!), why can't we???
