Toothless, weak and seemingly dispassionate. I'm pretty disappointed, especially looking at the pretty much identical stats for the Italy game - slightly more posession, just as many chances and identical pass completion rate and we lose. Granted their goals were a penalty and a free kick but the French finishing was very poor. Does swearing in French get past the filters?

Guess I'll have to support another country I have family ties to; Germany, Portugal.

They need a rebuild. Gallas, Henri, Thuram, Coupet, Makalele, Sagnol, all past their best.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

i actually thought henry was still ok.
other than that they need a completely new everything,  get new coaching staff, especially a new manager!

and yeah gallas, coupet, abidal, thuram, sagnol, makelele, and possibly vieira and henry have got to go as well.

i dont see why abidal even made that challenge this morning. based on Tonis form so far he wouldve missed anyway!   boumsong was good when he came on, shouldve played him from the start instead of abidal/gallas who had another little cry again

Henry is someone I see being able to carry on at that level for a few years, but in a different role. I can see him moving back a bit, to central midfield a la Dwight Yorke. He's got the range of passing and, importantly, the football brain to pull that off.
Yeah, that was a dumb challenge by Abdal all right. You could argue that the sending off was harsh, but he put the referee in the position to be able to do it.

Why they didnt take Sagna & Clichy is beyond me. I also reckon they needed an engine like Flamini in midfield.

Henry was probably the best player, might be able to play a role until the World Cup, maybe.
But yeah, complete re-build: drop the old players and build towards doing well in EURO 2012, theres some real talent in the French set-up that can do (hopefully) great things.

Coz Domenech is a moron. Not taking Sagna, Clichy, Flamini and Trezeguet.

Jesus, what was he thinking.

Clichy is behind both Evra and Abidal, simply on experience. They've been playing at a higher level for longer. Sagna should've been in. Clerc?

Flamini should've been in (wasn't he stand by for Vieira before tourney started? anyway still should've been in) and Trezeguet omission is pretty crazy.

Domenech's selections have always been odd. Coupet is a good keeper but how has Frey only had 2 caps.

Domenech hasn't done that bad a job really, except for the last few weeks obviously, but hopefully Deschamps brings something new and invests in youth rather than places for the boys.
