Out of non-English teams, Real Madrid and Barcelona are the favourites.
The other Spanish teams (Villarreal and Atletico Madrid) are very good too, but don't think they can progress beyond semis. Inter Milan are probably the best out of the non-English/non-Spanish lot. A 'surprise' team (like Fenerbahce and Schalke 04 last season) could well be Shakhtar Donetsk. Really rate them, they could make the quarters if they get a bit of luck.
Don't rate Bayern at all, wouldn't be surprised if they failed to progress from group stages, or get knocked out in the round of 16. And Glasgow Rangers are out of Europe altogether, so their chances are exactly 0%.el grapadura2008-10-05 20:52:36

Atletico Madrid are a quality side they have some brilliant players none more so than Kun. If they get a run on i could definaely see them going all the way.

They did get clobbered today though.

But then again, the way Barca played, they would have clobbered anyone. I mean 6-1 flattered Atletico, that says it all really.

Yep Barca ran riot over them this morning but i think in time that will prove to be nothing but a one off result. Not taking anything away from a very classy Barca side though.

I agree, it was just a kind of day you say, 'farken, can't do anything about that' and move on. They'll still be thereabouts come May/June next year I think, too much quality in that team for them not to be a factor late in the season either in Spain or Europe (or even both).

barcelona are putting in some pretty classy performances, messi an absolute genius like usual. i like their chances but with the amount of quality sides in europe you really never can tell
